Why BHP?

Why??

Because more guns always equals better. I have a 228 in 9 and a 1911 in 9. I'm only getting started .

Interesting... Assuming the trigger on my new BHP can be improved to be on par with these two (they've had trigger jobs)...

I'm having to downsize a bit. The BHP is safe, but I've decided that the 9mm 1911 is expendable (I have a .45 1911). I do appreciate firearms w/ some history and it scores major points there!
One of the most widely used military pistols in history, issued to the armies of over 50 countries... And let's not forget John Browning's DNA. It's grip is shorter and beefier than the other two,
but I find it very ergonomic with my large hand (e.g., my hand is too large for a G19, but fits the BHP fine) and accurate (+ accuracy should improve w/ a better trigger). For me, it's a keeper.

If it makes a difference, it is on the roster.

It's a staple weapon, every collection should have one.

No gun fits my hand better than the BHP, I love the way mine looks. My isn't as accurate as I hoped, going to put some money into it and get it straighten out.

Pros: history/designer, regarded as cool, must have in a collection, one can never have too many guns, fits some hands well (ergonomics)

Cons: mushy trigger, may need some work to turn into a better shooter, may not fit some hands (ergonomics), hammer bite

Started out with a HP. Then got a CZ clone. Recently added a 1911 in 9mm.

The HP is seeing less range time but is still one of my favorites to shoot.

I prefer the HP design to the CZ. The CZ has just a bit too much trigger reach for my hands. The HP fits my hands almost perfectly.

Probably most people know this but there are clones of the BHP out there if cost is an issue. I know theres a couple of us on here that have Argentine FM copies. Theres also FEG (Some true clones, some bastard SW59/BHP hybrids) and Charles Daly..


The people that say the trigger is mushy must still have their magazine disconnect intact...

BHP has awesome history. Definetly a great reason alone to own one. They are good handguns, no doubt.

9mm 1911s have had taken a long time to catch on. A lot of people look down on it alone simply because it isn't a 45. They appear to have a reputation for being troublesome, which is either undeserved or simply far out of date. I've just heard a lot of people talk bad about them. And mine (plural) have all been great.

Biggest downside definitely. I can't really reach the trigger on DA.

Now i need to buy a lion and a tiger. I could ride them one foot on each beast while i DW two BHP's.

I am going to have to find some used, there is no way i can afford two brand new big game cats with all of the CZ i have been buying.

The BHP was/is the most widely used handgun in military history. That says a lot about the BHP IMO.

They are reliable as hell, ergos are amazing for people with small to medium sized hands and they are accurate. They are amazing handguns, period.
