    Kahr CW9 7+1
Felt better in the hand than the short/fat sub-compact glocks. It will be my CCW. But yes, a similar 10 rounder would be better.

I carry a shield 9mm which I'm sure you've considered... 8+1 but probably the closest proven pistol you're going to find
The new VP9 uses the P30 mags. I don't think P30's are single stack...or double stack. probably a "1.5" stack. similar to the HK45, it's not single stack and not double stacked either...about 1.5?

P30 mags hold 15 rounds, which is a pretty typical capacity for 9mm double stacks.

I live in a free state these days and I want one. As I said already, it's a matter of concealability, not legal magazine capacity in my case. Slimmer grip = easier concealment.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

That being said 9mm 1911's, S&W 39xx's, SiG p220/210, list goes on... Are amazing handguns.
you partially answered your own question. in addition, different handguns fulfill different roles and address needs that vary for different applications.

How about someone design a +2 base plate for a Shield?
              That's what I'm waiting for.

I went with a p239 9mm. It's a single stack and capacity is 8+1, with the decocker and da/sa I feel completely comfortable with a round chambered. I think that's an incredible gun and as close as you can get to a single stack 10 rounder which is compact.

There are 10 round magazines for it, if you don't mind a longer mag (works great as spares).

Tried your link but it didn't work. They are out there but like you said they stick out a little, and they are usually damn expensive when you can find them.

Many folks get too wrapped up in the number of rounds in the magazine when the number of rounds on target is more important. Sure, it's nice to reload less but if I can't overcome the threat in 8 or 9 rounds I have a serious problem that a handgun probably won't solve.
+2, Shooting the Sig p225 is a dream. I agree that 8+1 is enough but if the OP just wants to have the max allowed in Cali, then I understand that as well. It is a shame they stopped production of the p226/P6.
