I do not think the Shield is falling off the roster anytime soon... Probably won't be renewed (like the other S&W autos).
I paid 530 via SSE. Was worth it for me.

Shield with 8rd mag is the exact same height as g19.

+$50 for you. For me, IF my LGS could do an SSE on this, it would be a $50 transfer fee just just to get the gun, not to mention the SSE fee. And many shops have an SSE fee as well, one place is $150, sometimes waived if you buy from them, and sometimes not. So for many, it is a transfer fee + SSE fee.

But anyway, I am giving my LGS some time to try to get a 9mm for me before I turn to Turners - who I know I can get one from at 439$. I am fine with a CA version, the LCI means nothing to me personally.

Pretty sure there is some document or quote from S&W floating around about how they plan to keep this on the roster. Plus, as long as they do not make any changes to it, they will not have to get it recertified so it is just a matter of paying to keep it on the roster as it was on and listed before the microstamp law. I think this was one of their main goals with the CA Shield. So roster should not be an issue going forward on this any time soon.

The DOJ show the shield dropping from the roster in July..... Another reason why I'm thinking of picking one up. But I guess I'm unfamiliar with the sse way of doing it. Just confused.

The California specific Shields are NOT falling off the roster, it will be renewed along with the SD/Sigma series.

Shops in Sacramento are starting to get a bunch of CA Shields in. The one shop near my house just got 28 in today alone. $479 before tax DROS.

I got a feeling in a couple months these things will be on sale for $399.

You mean these from MTG firearms?

Did you get yours from Chris with Digital Instincts? I just got home with mine today after taking her to the range and I am happy with my purchase. Here's a picture after cleaning her up.
