I don't doubt what you're saying at all. But the design of the glaser is to fragment into lots of tiney BBS that will dump their energy quickly. Yeah it'll go through some drywall but the point of them is to hopefully not have enough penetration/energy to do any serious damage to an innocent on the other side of the wall.

I don't use HP ammo to prevent over penetration. I use it because it will do the most damage to an intruder should I need to use it.

... HP's go through a car door and a plywood board. Everything from 22 through 45.

Seems to me like all that talk about using HP's to prevent over-penetration through walls will give a false sense of security.

I live in a dense apartment complex, and I'm pretty worried.
          That first video was awesome

You are all completely and utterly wrong in every single way...

Box of truth, google it. He debunked all of these myths.

The only sensible in this thread was the one who said he wouldn't bet his life on birdshot.

Do people really rely on birdshot? Oh wait, you probably follow it up with buck then your last two are slugs.. I can tell you have never been in a firefight. Your brain ****s the bed when you hit someone and they don't go down or react the way you expected. Plan accordingly

From recent threads that I've experienced on this board and another. Bird shot is just going to piss off the bad guy. And likely to get a proper beat down from the BG. Bird shot isnt the way to go. 00 buck or slugs are. Case in point!

If you are scared to use a gun in a self defense scenario, use a baseball bat, or a knife, or a hammer or a sword, or a frying pan, etc. Or be prepared to have to shoot and kill someone, and rack up collateral damage along the way, in the minuscule chance that you actually might have to.

You take risks every day, every time you drive down the road. Sometimes you gotta risk it brotha. Be safe out there!

This is your criteria for a self defense round? You might as well use a pile of crap then. I would not let you hit me in the face with it from 7 yards so it must be a great self defense tool

Well obviously hollow points are going to stop quicker than FMJ.

If you live in a crowded apartment complex and know darn well that your hollow point will penetrate through your neighbors wall, will you not be guilty of murder if you kill innocent people while trying to shoot a bad guy? After all you knew that would happen and still chose to use 9mm hollows instead of a birdshot, or a baseball bat. Truth is, your life aint more important than your neighbors. Maybe only to you, but not to me, or anyone on the jury.

Well I don't think anyone on this board would be "okay" with killing an innocent neighbor. Right?

I see, from what I've gathered. Especially in CA, shooting a BG trying to steal from your house and for some reason you shoot that person. Your going to have a lot of explaining to do. More so if you start firing off several rounds and you hit your neighbor who was sleeping or going about his every day business. Right?

No, murder requires intent to kill the victim. There are a few exceptions to that, and I am not saying that someone will not be facing legal issues.

I have the Hornady Critical Defense rounds Hollow Points in my 9mm, are they're better choices out there for what we've stated above?
