In other words, I was thinking I might purchase some off roster guns that would be very desirable in California, such as:

Ruger LCP (will buy a few of these)
    Glock Gen 4 9mm
    Springfield XDM 9mm
    Springfield XDS 45
    FNX 9
    HK P30 or HK45
A KelTec if I can find one
    EAA Witness
    Beretta Nano
other guns I can't think of right now

Please understand that I am not trying to be greedy. I have massive debt right now from school and would also like to provide cool guns to people who can't get them. Do you guys think this is a good idea? Are there any guns you would like to see added to this list? Will this raise a red flag to the ATF? Thanks!
You have a massive debt but you can still afford to buy 'a few of these'

Lets forget for a minute what you are proposing is illegal.
Why would you a accumulate more massive debt? Bad idea.
Not illegal, and profit has nothing to do with it.

        Expensive, yes.

You can sell 5 handguns per year without problem, according to California law, and that law was specifically created to keep individuals from being dealers.

The uninformed chicken stupidity is starting to catch up with this forum.

Follow the law, buy some guns, sell them according to California law.

The military actually has NO problem with guns, by definition.

Also it is not 5 handguns or weapons but FTF sales. If one person buys 20 guns in a FTF transactions that counts as 1.

Also add the M&P shield and when you are bored with it, I will buy it.

Keep in mind that with SSE many of those are available and thus do not have a CA premium

Can you afford to buy them all in the "few weeks" until you move to CA?

Anything you buy, and don't want to keep later, can be legally sold.

As a Military member stationed in CA, by Federal Law you will be considered a CA resident for gun purchasing purposes.

You cannot legally go back to Arizona and purchase off roster handguns once you are stationed in CA.

I was wondering how long before the misinformation on this thread got correct.

The above is correct. You are allowed to be the seller in 5 handgun transactions a year. But each transaction can include as many guns as the buyer wants to buy. Also, executors of estates are exempt when disposing of the estate.

Buying a few guns you want to try and might sell if they don't work out should normally be OK but don't even think about becoming an "unlicensed dealer" by doing more than a few personal sales in a year. I would also agree that you have probably "red flagged" yourself with the ATF with your post.

On top of all that, I don't think there are really any guns that would offer such a huge profit as to compensate for the risk of not being able to find a buyer when you want or need to sell. People simply are not going to pay more than $600 for an LCP when the same money can buy a reasonable substitute in the form of a Kahr 380. Except for a few "unobtainable" pistols, the SSE process pretty much caps your potential profit at $100 or so

NO! As has been said here, that would be illegal, and the amount of profit you would make would not be worth the possibility of jail time.
                              Sorry, not sorry.
