Or they may have left, post haste thinking that someone armed in this fashion was a police officer prepared to apprehend them. These hypotheticals go both ways- you have no idea how things would go down with the number of variables involved.

does anyone know about the laws here in santa clara county? Or can someone point me into the direction i need to go in order to look for myself? I am a new booty to the forums but trying hard to get as much info as a can being a lurker. Also while I am pro OC because it makes a good stand for us living in ca, I do feel that OC is honestly more bad then good and pretty pointless. On the last page someone posted about how 3 guys robbed a 7-11. In my point of view if someone were to have been OCing does any feel like it would have put them person carrying in more danger? I think that if a group of gangsters or a group of people up to no good in general were to see someone OC, who thinks that the person carrying would be more likely to be gun pointed by several gangsters for their firearm then waited until that person left to do a crime?

This idea of "well, he's not coming after me so I will mind my own business" is a tad bit sheepish. If you were being robbed by people stronger than you would you expect a stranger to help you? American citizenship has been earned through millions of people risking their lives for freedom from tyranny in all forms. United we stand; divided we fall. The bullies of society prey on the weak and isolated. If you are not there to help those that need it, it is only a matter of time until you are the one that needs the help.

Looks like Santa Clara County Code only regulates licensing of firearms sales for anyone selling more than 6 firearms a year.
Doesn't look like they regulate carry beyond what the State already has on the books.

Many counties and cities have restrictions on shooting. For the most part they cannot regulate carrying because of state preemption laws.

I spoke to Officer Payn at Oxnard PD yesterday. He stated there are no Ventura County or Oxnard City ordinances regarding open carry. They just go to state law. I did forget to inquire about OPD's definition of loaded/unloaded. I might stop by again and ask.

True, but I just wanted to make sure that he was aware of what state law actually was. I'm not about to open carry with a mag or two only to be harassed or even arrested because they were misinformed.
