This is a interweb forum, I know Greg, I have no true loyalty to him. I have purchased from his shop and find him friendly and knowledgeable. But if you come on here and give your opinion, please expect others to have a different opinion.
Too many people post and give out stink unless they are agreed with. I agree you had a right to complain and Greg et al, had there right to come on and chime in their opinion. If you don't want it do not ask for it. You asked if you were being too dramatic, Greg replied that he thought you were.I support the NRA, if you are not in, you can't win.Comment

Actually, I agree that this thread had morphed into somewhat of a '***** session' and that was definitely not my original intent...
I was more than happy that the thread had dropped near the bottom of the second page (due to lack of updates) until Greg decided to put it back up to the top again...
... And his reason was to add exactly what pearls of wisdom?Comment

... The only reason I got satisfaction (my definition) from SIG CS was because I did not accept the CS rep's solution of simply shipping me a new mainspring. I had to go the additional step of requesting to speak to his Manager. When I finally got thru to him, I told the Manager exactly what I wanted from SIG: Either 1) My money back, or 2) An FSP by the Custom Shop + discounted AEP and free two-way shipping. This was not his idea, he simply decided to agree with my request. To top it off... I had to call this Manger back again today and play telephone tag with him once again, because he 'forgot' to send me the shipping labels he promised to do two days ago. And finally... To address BigfootHunter's post of why I didn't just start calling additional phone #'s: According to the CS rep, that 'special QC #' that FirstSig mentioned is simply routed to the same CS line I finally ended up getting thru to. And that's the simple truth.
Best keep these contact numbers handy. Good Luck!
..... They "lost" my 226 when it went in for repairs.
The CS agent handling my case didn't know where it was and hadn' heard from the gunsmith.
Never the less, after two weeks of being given the run around, it took me emailing everyone under the sun before a CS manager called me to tell me the sig was in the mail. I emailed the following folks...
scott.therrien@sigsauer.com<scott.th...sigsaue r.com>;
aaron.cohen@sigsauer.com
bud.fini@sigsauer.com
amy.pevear@sigsauer.com
One of them in vice pres. Two are marketing people and Scott is the customer service manager.
Good luck with your Sig!Comment

I find it interesting too that all these people are jumping the gun on the OP. Sig was clearly in the wrong with this one and it's rather unacceptable that a premium gun that is advertised to be specialized in a certain field, shows up already.. day 1, failing it miserably. Only thing I would have done differently with this thread was make it straight to the fact report on what showed up and what I plan to do about it. No need to ask for opinions here unless you really want to look for alternative solutions. It's good that reports like this is out and about because it will at least raise awareness that these QC issues are around. On top of that, it can potentially help Sig in showing consumers that they'll at least make an effort to make their customers happy.Comment

Because you're in the gun selling business and this is a gun forum? Just a guess, but I'm guessing that's why you need this stuff.Comment

That is very true and I understand you analogy, BUT what would you do if your bikes kept breaking down or stalling after a lap or two? And the maker just said it needs to be driven more before it becomes reliable? Thats the analogy that Im thinking of. And what if somebody had a safe queen and one day in their lives they needed to actually protect themselves from a threat and they pull it out of the safe after 10years and It jams after a few rounds. That wouldnt be cool. Anyhow, I understand what you saying.
Some people want a "safe queen" some don't. So these 1911 companies either sell you a only fired once or twice, or do they fire it until it is broken in. Prefer to break in the gun myself.
For a real life analogy,I buy race bikes (motorcycles) and I do not expect them to be putting down laps in thunder hill straight off the dealer floor, no. I like to break them in to my specs and for me to get comfortable with said machine during the break in.

[QUOTE=nikki#2;8390952...I am more than happy at this point to simply let this thread DIE.[/QUOTE]
I'd appreciate it if you'd ride it out. Gotta know how it feels when you get it back (did I read that right? It's being sent back for correction?) Seems some metals being tested here. In actual materials, customer service and patience. Nobody said life would be easy. At least it's not boring. Carry on nikki#2. Thanks for posting.Comment

Interesting to note: According to Sig CS, none of the springs (including the Mainspring) in the MK25 are coated with the 'special phosphorus coating',
so apparently Sig does not consider them an 'internal component' as in the marketing blurb.
In my note inside the case I asked the Custom Shop to clarify exactly what components are indeed coated...
"The new P226 MK25 is identical to the pistol carried by the U.S. Navy SEALs-the fleet’s special warfare operators.
It comes complete with a phosphate finish applied to all internal components, “providing corrosion resistance
in even the harshest of saltwater environments.”Comment

It's truly amazing how advertisement can disillusion the cattle.Comment

True dat--Navy Seals are the most bad *** herd of cattle I know of
Can we move on now the glock fanboys have spoke, Sig made it right (as if there was any doudt), and if anyone really thinks Sigs are junk DON'T buy one. There are enough of us who know otherwise. If you own one and don't want it, PM me if the deal is there I'll buy it, you can never have enough real metal guns, Kaboom! If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.Comment
