The orange tells you which way to re-install the spring on the guide rod. It's the tighter end. And yes there is a right and wrong way. Ive only seem one choke for not putting it back the right direction though. More than likely you'd be fine but just use the orange end.

Exactly. If you somehow got a orange end that wasn't tighter then it'd be a different issue.
