Not to bash glock, But, out of personal preference I would say go with the xd, I have both glock and springfield and I prefer my xd40. This is just my opinion out of personal preference. I also like having the additional backstrap safety that my xd has.

I own a Glock 23 and a subcompact XD40. I like both. They both function the same.
Only differences to me:
The grip / feel of the gun in your hand - I like how the XD feels a little more than the Glock
Weight / overall size - The Glock is lighter and thinner than the XD, better for carrying.

Glock VS XD perfect time for me to post this! Last sunday I went out to the range and shot an XD and a Glock ,both were 9mm and all I can say is both were nice and I would be happy with either. They are totally different feeling and the best way to choose would be to try them both.California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.Comment

I prefer the grip angle and grip on my XD. I also prefer the takedown mechanism. It just shoots better for me, but your milage may vary. Take them both out and shoot them.sigpicComment
