I disagree to some extent.. The weight you put into this comment is somewhat misplaced.. If you were shooting 'that' fast, then youre not waiting for it to reset.. Guys like R. Leatham have indicated that they 'slap' the trigger when shooting at speed... There's no sensation of reset, they're simply jerking their finger as fast as possible..
For me, I have no idea if i'm slapping or not, but I'm definitely not waiting for the trigger to reset.. It's all really a wash when you're pushing yourself.. I think this is what Gryff was potentially referring to.. Theoretically it makes sense, but in practical terms, it's a non-issue as there's more than enough time to reset your trigger while you're acquiring your sights and letting the gun settle from the recoil..Aloha snackbar!Comment

800 to 1200 is a high round count? Thats a slow month (4 competitions and maybe a little afterwards) for whatever poor gun I am shooting that monthI have. If 800-1200 rounds is considered a high round count class. (Personally, if we're shooting more than that I consider that too much shooting and not enough instruction) Shooting 1000 rounds in a weekend without cleaning isn't exactly a torture test or proof of long term reliability. Most quality designs from most major manufacturers (and XD's are included) should get through something like that with no problems. If not, its a quality control issue.
Never mind about doing any drills.

800-1200 in a single day is a bit excessive, over a weekend I would still call 1200 to much.
On a heavy practice at the action range, 400 is getting to the point were its getting old.Sandstorm Custom Rifle Slings : Custom Paracord slings

i had the same dilemma. Finally decided the Glock17 to be my first. Made a purchase yesterday. It's on a 10day hold. But since the XD are very affordable, and also Springfield is doing a promotion on the extra mags, for sure, my next gun will be an XD-40.Comment

I have and love both Glock and XD but I prefer the XD slightly more in quality and function. There's more metal parts, and it jams less than my glocks (using steel case ammo). My XD even came factory with a polished feed ramp. The firing pin assembly is all metal (except one part that can be replaced with metal) The glock has 4 plastic pieces in it's firing pin assembly and a plastic back plate but I could only find a metal replacement for the back plate. Also if you're in CA then only the Gen 3s Glocks are available unless ppt. That means unless you buy a compact model or something you will only have the polymer recoil rod with the single spring. The XDs comes with the metal double action recoil spring assemblies (like they use in the Gen 4 Glocks). The factory sights on my XD were metal, the Glocks are plastic. I also like the internal extractor in the XD, its one piece made of a really though spring steel vs the Glock that has a couple pieces to it with small springs and looks like it wears out faster. I didn't like the XD at first, it looks weird to me but I can't argue with the features. The only thing I can see my Glocks have over my XD is the tenifer finish, its tougher than the finish on the XD that wore off slightly when the previous owner holstered it. Also the Glocks probably hold their value better because of their brand name. I also like the way Glocks look better than the XD but that has nothing to do with function. I don't like the way the Gen 4 Glocks look as much because of the switchable grips and their new grip texture. I do like the way the XDm looks alot better than the XD (looks better to me than the Gen 4 as well).
I would say buy both but buy an XD first.Last edited by Thecrazyone1; 09-24-2011, 12:42 PM.Comment

Try before you buy. What works for you, might not be the same for everybody else. Good luck.Originally posted by pistolero805Brass has antimicrobial properties.Originally posted by sean michaelBrass knuckles, when you want to punch someone but don't want to give them an infection.
