Dude, I have a Springfield GI 1911 that eats ANYTHING. Seriously, it's had less failures than my MC Operator, and that hasn't had many. The ones it had were attributed to oversized bullets that I bought when I started reloading, the GI ate those, too. The only problem I have with it are the sights (which are fine for close quarters stuff) and the damned hammer bite.
On the other hand, Glocks are pretty much always good to go. I have nothing against them. They shoot nice, and you don't get hammer bite.
