Generally drop in barrel and some sort of mag lock etc. It varies on the shop's preference and the type of gun. You can sit down and do it right there if they'll let you after you take possession.

That is correct. Only stipulation is that these barrels are manufactured for each gun/platform, so not all shops will have a barrel for every type of gun if there isn't a big enough demand for it.

I already spoke with the shop and they said no problem on the PF-9 and P-11, which were the guns I was flipping between.

2. For the MP5 clone pistol, if seller send in with mag disassembled and no BB installed, will it meet the legal SSE-P requirements? if not, how to make it into SSE-P?
3. How to make HK45 into SSE-P for transfer?

not sure where you came up with that 7.5" number. SSE requires a 6" barrel, but I dont' think a 5K has even that, so you'd have to have a barrel extention permanently attached along with the zero-round mag (SLED)

An MP5 with a standard magazine release would be an AW, a felony. It needs to have a maglock installed before it comes into CA. In addition, it would need a SLED installed to be SSE.

I have a semi-local shop whom I won't mention any names that has the best solution I have seen yet. The mag has been dis-assembled with the floorplate and spring/follower taken out. Presto, you now have a 0 round sled. This method seems much simpler than what I have seen some people come up with. Good luck!

I may have missed it, but I've reread the thread a few times. Can a magazine for a smaller caliber than the gun is chamber for be a single shot sled.? We'll say a Glock 17 magazine in a Glock 22.

Danny no it doesn't. You can just PPT like you would any other gun.
