That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

Buy them both now. Only do the paperwork on the Glock now and the 1911 in 30 days.
          Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Who says 3rd Gen Glocks are gonna dry up soon? Glock has not announced they're discontinuing the 3rd Gen. If that's the case new Glocks will not be available for sale here in CA. And CA makes up for a huge chunk of Glock sales in the United States. I wouldn't be surprised if it would be worth it for Glock to continue 3rd Gen production for CA alone.

If that is indeed the case might as well buy a new 3rd Gen for $500-600 now. Wait until they become scarce or unavailable and sell it for $1200+ and get a truly decent 1911 like a SA TRP. If new Glocks aren't available in CA you'll have no trouble getting that much or even more because there's a huge built in base of Glock fans in CA.

For me the Glock 17 is made as best as a Glock 17 could be made and is the superb example of the breed.
An RIA 1911 is not made as best as a 1911 could be made and is a low end cutting corners wherever they can example of the breed.
              Hope that makes sense.

                    They are both nice.

I voted for the 1911... because it is, you know, its 100th birthday

does it really shoot flames like that?
if so i would think it would blind you if you shot it in low light

since you are gonna get both, id suggest getting the one that you get a better deal on first.

Pretty simple. It should be whatever you can't wait to have in your possession first since you are buying both. If you want a vote I say get the Glock 17 first. Not the C version if you intend to use it for home defense. Why increase muzzle flash when ammo companies and users prefer low muzzle flash in defense ammo, whether shooting in low light or retention.

Sometimes but hardly. I've shot it at night and it did not effect me at all.

Pardon my ignorance as I'm new to this, but why gen3 seems to be favorited over gen4? Thank you.
