As for mags, you can get some Glock Rebuild Kits from www.44mag.com. Just remember to add 1 California Compliance Breakdown for each hi-capacity magazine in your shopping cart. They only charge $0.99 cents per magazine for this service.

Sounds crazy, but so long as they break them into the core components before shipment, they are considered rebuilt kits and not high-capacity magazines. There is a DOJ letter floating around that says this is legal.

Although most of what you say is true you are a little misleading and may get this guy in trouble.

You can buy REBUILD KITS for REBUILDING your previously owned high cap mags. That is to say that you had to already own high cap mags prior to the ban. This also means that you cannot add mags to your mag total. So, lets say that you had one high cap mag for years and you buy a rebuild kit. After rebuilding your mag you can still only have one mag, not two. ]

If you didn't own them prior to the ban you can still buy rebuild kits but CAN NOT build them into functioning mags unless they are permanently limited to 10 rounds.

If you build them into funtioning high caps and they are not being used to rebuild a previously legally owned high cap without adding to total # of high caps you previoulsy owned....... ITS ILLEGAL DON'T DO IT

I'm up to speed on all the hi cap stuff, I'll just go 10 rounders for now. The guy at the counter quoted me like $35 or $40 for a mag so I said no thanks. Is there a way to pin a hi cap Glock mag to 10 rounds (like AR mags)? Seems like they are cheaper than 10 rnd ones...

BTW, that same store has a cleaner G19 on consignment for like $350 or $375, no mag included.

Im sure there is. If you can pin a PMAG why not a Glock mag.

A U block and a rivet would probably work good.

Who cares what generation it is, it still is the same Glock. That price is a steal, and if something is worn off, you can swap parts or refinish it. Congrats!


And I would think it is legal to pin a normal capacity mag to 10 rounds because my local gun smiths/gunshops do that. They order 30 round mags, which they have the licenses to own/order, then modify them to accept only 10 rounds and sell them to civilians.

I have yet to see a letter from the DoJ stating that you can buy new rebuild kits and use them to create new high capacity magazines that you did not previously own.

Reassembling a rebuild kit in to a new complete magazine with a capacity greater than ten rounds is illegal.
