Well, I guess we're in the minority. I bought from them once, will never buy from them again. Shipped me a gun they agreed was not as advertised, wouldn't even contemplate correcting it by going 50/50 on a fix AND used negative feedback as a threat.I hope I am in the correct room here; if not I'm sorry about posting under California Handguns.
I just wanted to take a few moments and share my thoughts on my first purchase online. I will NEVER buy a firearm from Budsgunshop.com or any other online store again. Man, I had the worst experience with Buds. Call after call for about three days and no answer from them. All I kept receiving was a voicemail message that said "the mail box you have reached is full, try later." I sent two email to them; no response. All i was sent was an automated email about 10 days later that my handgun had been shipped 2nd Day via UPS (I thought it had to be next day delivery).
Anyways, I'm sticking to dealing with local business' for now on. At least I can speak to someone face-to-face and have my questions answered. This was just my personal experience. But I will say this, I like buying goodies and Budsgunshop.com has lost my business forever!
The difference between good customer service and lousy customer service is how a company handles the problems - Buds handled mine poorly. I've probably bought 80 guns since my experience with them, they get no $$$ from me.GOA Member & SAF Life MemberComment

I gotta say, I do not think ANY humans work at buds, it is all phone system, and internet bots!!!!!!
No Human has ever answered a phone there, I have called MANY dozens of times of many months.
NO HUMANS at Buds!
That being said, I would not buy a handgun anywhere else!
By the time you are ready to order it, you know more about it than some salesmen does, right?
I live on email, so their system is fine with me, I just had to get over talking to a person, then I relaxed, and my gun was at my FFL in 2 days.
Wish I could afford to buy somehting else, but these damned Garands are too expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!Comment

Personally I give all store slack during the holiday season.
I think *most* stores want you to be happy. They want to have the item in stock, sell it to you, you get it, everyone's happy.
Especially now-a-days, almost everyone is a little short-handed because of the economy.

This was my exact experience in buying my P-01 from Bud's, other than my delivery notice took seven days rather than ten. I second the notion, based on my experience, that Bud's should change their name to Bot's.Call after call for about three days and no answer from them. All I kept receiving was a voicemail message that said "the mail box you have reached is full, try later." I sent two email to them; no response. All i was sent was an automated email about 10 days later that my handgun had been shipped 2nd Day via UPS (I thought it had to be next day delivery).
I ordered my gun in mid-November, well before any "holiday" rush. If you list an e-mail address or phone number as a contact, you darn well should have it operational, excuses are weak.
As pathetic as the customer service was, I just may order from Bud's again. The prices are low and they carry a far wider variety of guns than any shop I've been in.You rise, you fall, you're down and you rise again. What don't kill you make you more strong!Comment

I only bought my very first firearm early this year and -- even to my own amazement -- by this time, not even a full year later, I've definitely spent *several* *thousand* *dollars* on handguns, rifles, ammunition and accessories, the vast majority of which were online purchases.
Now, why do I mention the above here? I do so because, at the very outset of my firearms-related purchases earlier this past year I'd emailed Bud's Gun Shop with what I felt was an understandable, if probably simple (to more firearms-savvy folks) question about a purchase I was considering making from their website. It was not, as I recall, a big-ticket item, I hasten to mention.
To my chagrin, Bud's Gun Shop never so much as acknowledged my email, much less responded to my question. Believe me, had they responded a week or even more later I would've understood, considering how busy they must have been this year with the surge in firearms-related sales.
I guess the item I was asking about was just not expensive enough for Bud's Gun Shop to bother responding about.
After a feww weeks of not receiving a reply to my email from Bud's I adopted the attitude, "No problem -- I'll just take my business elsewhere." Which, as noted above, I have done in spades, and all done while engaging in my own personal "boycott" of Bud's Gun Shop. Their loss is other online retailers' gain!Last edited by jeffyj101; 12-01-2009, 10:06 PM.Comment

I always do my homework before I buy anything, even non-online stuff.

Good point - and if they can't be bothered before they have your $$$, what does that say about their willingness to respond to an issue after they have your cash in hand?..........at the very outset of my firearms-related purchases earlier this past year I'd emailed Bud's Gun Shop with what I felt was an understandable, if probably simple (to more firearms-savvy folks) question about a purchase I was considering making from their website. Bud's is cheap and slow. If you have a local FFL who isn't in love with himself, get a price from him and compare it to your best online price including taxes and fees. Good FFL's can come darn close to online prices, and then you have another person in your corner if the gun has issues.*REMOVE THIS PART BEFORE POSTING*Comment

I have never had a bad experience with Buds and have bought several weapons from them. Apparently, YMMV.Comment
