By the way--If i didnt like the PT1911 I would have to wait 6 months to do a PPT.

What your rant shows is that in retail you have to worry about major sales periods (holidays, christmas, black friday) and ramp up your sales staff and pay them overtime. Unfortunately, in the gun business, the doing whatever it takes to make a buck American doctrine often doesn't apply. Most shops are run like family businesses. Don't know if it is good or bad, just the way it is.

Never had a problem with Bud's either..I wouldn't let this one incident prevent you from doing business online. There are a lot of savings to be had OP.

I had the same problem. Said it was IN stock and shipping ASAP. A week went by before I got an automated tracking number. Got an email AFTER it shipped saying they were sorry and were having problems due to a hurricane/storm or some other act of god that happened.

If you want instant gratification Buds is not for you. They have great pricing and state before you check out that guns will ship in 5-10 days. Their customer service sucks yes, but I have never had a problem with anything I have got from them. I ordered a gun the begining of last week and it just made it to my FFL today. It was worth the money I saved.

Sounds like a couple of guys having bad luck. Buds is, imo, the best online vendor for complete firearms in the country. Not to mention one of the few that are very CA friendly. I just brought home a gun I bought from them a couple of days ago. I ordered it from Buds about 3 weeks ago for my GF. Very good service.

Yep, I'm another big fan of Buds, but I've never dealt with them during crunch times. And even though they won't send OLL's here, they are very supportive of the CA gun market. I remember when all of the new paperwork regs were coming out and lots of dealers were going to stop shipping to CA, they sent all CA customers an email saying that they had to stop accepting CA orders for a couple of days while they sorted it out, but were committed to keeping us supplied with firearms.

I'm also excited that I have some land and a house a few miles from their Paris location. Some day when I can spend less time working, I'll once again spend enough time in Kentucky to qualify for residency, and that house is going to need an awfully big gun safe.

I agree with most people; and after thinking about it, I probably will give them another chance in the future. But in today's economy, i'm of the opinion that customer service should be of the highest importance...but then again, i also agree with Greg-Dawg---"crap happens."

Great pricing but do not expect them to ship ASAP. They take their time processing, even pre-Obama. They do ship 2nd day delivery once they do it.

I buy most of my guns from Bud's anymore. You just have to understand and accept that you are trading away service and speed in exchange for the lowest price anywhere. If saving $100-700 on a firearm isn't worth that sacrifice then Bud's isn't for you.

If I know what I want and don't need phone support or delivery for 2 weeks I'll order from Bud's. If I need it to ship sooner I order from Davidsons and accept the higher price.

These days the only time I pay local prices is for impulse purchases. Something nifty at my local dealer or if Turner's or Big 5 is having a good sale.
