I have nothing against the cartridge and I can see some great applications where it could be used but I just don't think I have any need for it, so I probably won't ever own a gun chambered for it.

You don't have a need for one of the most effective auto-loader rounds?

MY thoughts as I read this thread as well.

Something to think about for sure in my opinion.
Baloney, It costs me the same to load 45 ACP, the 10mm just uses more powder. I buy bullets for my 10mm at my leisure and if they ever stop selling them, I'll just keep casting them.

I also love the 10mm round.

It is powerfuls, snappy, and has better wound ballistics than the .45 ACP. (Click HERE to check out a web page on water penetration).

But the catch is that it is snappier, hence the recoil/flip is noticeable. This translated to slower follow-up shots...or quick follow-up shots with less accuracy. (Pick your poison).

As for reloading, I find that it is about the same as the .45 ACP. I remember working it out a while back using the HANDLOADING COST CALCULATOR, and it was pretty close. But then again, I usually buy in bulk (5000 primers, 8-pound jugs of powder, etc...), so any bullet I reload for comes out waaaaaaaaaay cheaper than factory. Sometimes it comes out to almost 1/4 the cost of factory made rounds.

The hardest thing to find for 10mm is brass. (If you purchase it, it is more expensive than .45 ACP brass. And since it's a hotter round, you really don't know what you are getting when a seller claims "once fired"). So when you go shooting, watch where your brass falls after you shoot, so that you can pick it up later.

My 10mm is a Kimber Eclipse Custom II. I have tweeked it to suite my taste, and it shoots really nice. I prefer the 180 grain HP bullets @ 1,150 FPS for a nightstand buddy. But I am contemplating working-up a softer load to try it at a USPSA match sometime.

Below is an old picture of my 10mm. (I have since sold my SIG and Glock...so those patches are disappearo).

I'm not exactly sure. I have heard from a guy who owns several of the 10xx series and said the prepping of the trigger misaligned the FP and it wore unnaturally causing FTF failures. Whether that is fact I don't know and I've been looking into it for some time.

I have a G20 without the finger grooves or rail. I love it.
I have 5 other 10mm handguns, but the G20 rides on my hip when hog hunting.

It is a good round, why I have a barrel for it, fits into my G21 And bought a few mags to go with it.
But, I do like the 400 Corbon, also...

Yes, because it does not require a self propelled mount like the DEagle lol
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

                                Mstnpete,
Yes that is nice... You mentioned flat shooting, can you elaborate?
Seems the reason for all your goodies is to keep it from recoiling bad
Which makes a lot of sense

How much money, have you got into that piece?

I like the sights Compensator Is it really needed?

Talking about the DE they now have a compensator for their pistol.
DE in 44 mag is nice, but so is the 10 mm you have
