I agree, the 7.62 Tok is a nice round. But the guns they are chambered in aren't much to write home about. Unfortunately it's a very long round so you can't chamber it for the dozens of popular double stack 9mm designs out there.WTB: Winchester /Miroki 1895 .30-06; No1. Mk. III SMLE .303 British; M96 Swedish Mauser 6.5x55mm; M39 Finnish Mosin 7.62x54r; S&W 625 .45 ACP; Glock 17.I purge the wicked. The impious madness must end. I shall be the instrument of Armageddon. 10 MM
I have a couple of high end 1911's set up in both 40 S&W and 10 MM.
The only parts I need to swap are the barrel and the recoil spring (same extractor, ejector, mag, slide etc).
I like the two caliber same pistol setup.Comment

I had a Delta Elite once and it was a fun gun. As far as the cartidge goes, I love it, specially coming out of one of the MP5s that a couple of agents have let me shoot. It makes a great round for a compact entry gun but, even coming out of a short barrel, it still has the capability of getting the job done at +100 yards. As far as recoil, I've never had a problem shooting 10mm from a Delta Elite of a FA MP5.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

I've had a spare 40S&W barrel that I've been contemplating of reaming to 10mm for my Para Ord/STI build. Imagine 19 rounds of 10mm on tap, 20 if I load one in the pipe. Having a DEagle in 44 mag kind a makes it moot.

Haha I haven't seen that picture in a while! Nice!
10mm is pretty versatile with the loads available out there. Recoil isn't too much of an issue until you start getting to the 200 grainers, and only at the higher (original) velocity. 135-grains from Double Tap though...man is that loud!
The off-the-shelf stuff from Remington is almost like a 40. Boo!! Reload or order bulk from places like Double Tap if you seriously want to shoot this gun all the time.

Frankly, I am snoozing. The firearms industry is a lot like the drug industry. Any small arm, depending on bullet design, will poke holes in humans. Give me a .22, .25, .32, .38, 9mm, or .45 ..... punch holes I will. I have yet to be impressed by all the high tech plastic pistols with high capacity magazines and all the cool new rounds. Knock down power? Phhhf!
Just my two bits worth.
The first shot is the only round that matters - take your time and aim. This is difficult when one imagines hot lead flying at one's head. Take time, aim. Slowly squeeze your trigger, don't jerk it!
You still may not live through it; the other person may be better (or luckier). Take it or leave your guns home, Johnny; you could get killed (even though you are the good guy).
Living up to the 2nd amendment is a huge responsibility; carrying a gun is everyone's right, but are you up to it? I advocate CCW, rather than open carry in any form. Do criminals open carry? No, so let's try to surprise them occasionally, or they will surprise you.
It is not that I object UOC; it technically is our right and duty as law abiding citizens.
But ... it also generates a lot of confused citizens, as would LOC. And these confused citizens call the local police, and waste a lot time for the police, whom must investigate.
No, sir, I advocate CCW for anyone able to accept that burden in today's terrorist climate.
I think the Open Carry movement has not elevated its sights high enough to hit the target: Be ready, but don't advertise it.
So, in closing, let me briefly summarize: Any legal citizen (read non-felon) has the right to carry a firearm, concealed or inserted in a custom made holster, right out in the open, or concealed. Citizen's choice. I prefer to be discreet, for it takes a few decades of disorder and impoverishment to refresh the memories of a free people.Comment
