I love my 10mm, and ammo is not that hard to find. I can find more 10mm than 9mm ammo right now.

The best part is versatility. You can go from soft .40 performance up and past .41 Magnum performance, and all in the same gun without any changes outside of ammo!

My only 10mm is an older Smith 657 with a 6.5" lugged barrel. In the N frame the 10 feels like "41 Magnum lite" and is very easy to shoot. Finding brass for reloading isn't a problem, since the 40's so popular there are alot of different bullets to choose from also. I'd like to buy a semi 10, but there's just no way I'm buying a Glock or other plastic framed handgun.

Great round. Only potential down side is ammo cost, which isn't the end of the world. Enjoy.

If you don't already know how to reload ammo you better find someone who does and have them teach you.

10mm is great, but you need to reload to really get the full experience in my opinion. Factory ammo is hard to find or really expensive.. usually both. And it's usually not loaded any hotter than 40S&W.

Loading your own lets you try different powders and bullets until you find some loads you really like. Then you can make as much as you can afford.. definitely cheaper than buying facotry 10mm.

cool round, you almost have to reload to make it affordable, glock makes a solid firearm, I would have gone for the 9mm...cheaper ammo= more practice time, I don't care how big your bullet is if you can't hit what you are aiming at.....

If I had room to reload I'd have a 10mm. Its just too hard to find. Great round though.

cool round, not very suitable for a combat sidearm in my opinion. The 9mm is much better for that purpose.

                    I own two Glock 20s, two Glock 20Cs, two Glock 29s, and a Glock 20L. I also have a Colt Delta Eite and a S&W 610. I love 10mm. Great cartridge.

Here is my Glock 20L, which uses a Lone Wolf slide, but a factory six-inch hunting barrel:

The 10mm is by far the most fun I've had with a handgun. I really like how it is so versatile. I can use a heavy bullet and carry that as my camping and deer hunting sidearm, or I can use a light 135gr nosler when conceal carrying in urban areas. It's the one gun that everyone at the range wants to shoot and ask questions about.

Ammo is tough to find locally, and if you do find it, be ready to spend $23+ for a box of 50. And that is for the watered down stuff. Full power loads have to be ordered online (unless you load your own) and most companies are behind on their inventory. I used to order from Doubletap but their prices have increased consistently to the point where I'm fed up. Plus, they have really been lagging on their customer service. It's a shame, because their ammo has always been great in my experience. I'm excited to try out a few other companies I found though.

I like the 10mm round but to hard to find ammo, and if you do it's like buying little gold nuggets. So if you own one and cannot practice a lot then how in the world can you be proficient with it. My rule of thumb is to buy and shoot pistol that you can get ammo anywhere!

My vote is for the 10MM. Let's see - great ballistics, reasonable recoil for a magnum round, versitile with either factory or reload ammunition, multiple bullet weights and styles. What is not to like? Ok, ammo is hard to find. Heck who can find pistol large or small primers in quantity these days? I live in CA and believe me ammo supplies across the board are few. I say shoot what you like and I really like the 10MM.

Getting a Glock 20SF is high on my list. I hope I can find someone with one that will let me try a few shots before buying my own. I think my Glock 30SF is fine for self defense in the city, I want a 10mm for a hunting/camping sidearm.

I too am looking at a 10mm for the woods. Although 45 +p isn't too much to sniff at.
