The Colt Delta Elite is the only reason we have the 10mm in 2021 plain and simple. That small cracking issue was resolved decades ago all they did was machine a small amount of the frame rail out problem solved. Most kids spewing nonsense on any forum have never even encountered issues but are quick to post away about what they heard on the internet lol. It's hilarious, I guarantee 99% of the people on here never even fired a Delta Guaranteed!!!! I've owned and still own multiple Deltas and DGCs for decades and still have not encountered a cracked frame. If the load has similar specs to the Hot Norma rounds you will have 0 issues with your Delta. You really think Colt would still produce the Delta if it couldn't handle the hot 10mm loads??? Use common sense not some kid on a gun forum talking about something they never encountered plain and simple. If you can afford it buy a Delta you won't regret it.

I own two Colt Delta Elites, and have fired them quite extensively, although recently with .40 S&W loads as I have converted them both.
Both of mine are original production models and do not have the frame modification that was done in later models.
You can't have your argument both ways: 1) That it's small issue not worthy of attention, and 2) That it was major enough for Colt to change the frame design.
The point still remains that the original 1911 design isn't up to the demands of the 10mm. If it was, there would have been no need to change it.If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.Comment

Underwood stepped up to the plate on this one and others. Underwood takes care of the customers as far as I'm concerned.Enough of the Delta haters! Let's talk Glock Kaboom! Google it and you will find more.

I had been part of a recall of Underwood ammo specifically 44 mag and they threw in a couple extra boxes of ammo for the trouble.Comment

Sportsman's Warehouse has a sparse insert in the new mailer I just received but TWO Glocks on sale for what look like OLD prices... $549 for G29SF's and $499 for G17's... GEN3's... yes this is a CA local mailer.
I have those or a multiples in the G17... but that is a great sign even if it is a sale price and they sell out in 1 minute.
If I go in to look for 1301's I will check for G20's.Comment

I just picked up my first handgun about 2 months ago. It was also a Glock 20SF. Originally, I wanted a 9mm G17 but I have really big hands and the gentleman at the shop suggested I hold one first before buying. So I did, and then he made the recommendation that I go with the G20SF because the slightly bigger grip fit my hand better. So I did that too. Still have yet to go down to a range though because 10MM has been very hard to find in my area and they had none at the time of purchase either. Wish I would've known that before buying.Comment

Keep a watch on Gunbroker and the major websites (Brownell's, Midway, Bruno's and Natchez). In just the last six weeks, I've been able to get all of the needed ingredients to make up a bunch of 10mm and other pistol rounds. It's not easy, but the stuff is starting to slowly become available. If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. I consider the 1911 style and 10mm to be similar to the original S&W Model 19 and 357 Magnum loads. The original Model 19 could handle 357 magnum loads, but it was designed for LE use. Practice and train with 38 Special, but carry 357 Magnum. Too much 357 Magnum shooting would loosen the Model 19. Newer models have been improved so that is not necessarily the case any more.
1911 will handle full bore 10mm loads, but my personal preference is to shoot mostly mid range, or within book loads. But when serious use is called for, I will upgrade to full house loads like Underwood. I've shot Underwood loads in mine, and nary a bulge or a smile.Last edited by Sailormilan2; 12-07-2021, 1:20 PM.Comment

I scored a G41 back in 2014 or so. Because of Glock modularity, I also have a Gen4 G20 slide for the frame and a G40 MOS slide for the frame.I just picked up my first handgun about 2 months ago. I also have a 29SF like the ones that are at Sportsmans. I need to pickup some new sights for the 29SF... it is wearing one of those odd Mepro FT Bullseye sights right now, and I never fell in love with it.Comment
