Yeah Glock does this. Many are the same frame size. Handy for us holster makers. Cuts down on how many Blueguns ya need.Last edited by Horsewright; 01-15-2022, 8:08 AM.Comment

I'm no Glock fanboi, but since no one else has pointed this out, I have to. This is a function of how many of each gun is out there. Glock has probably sold 10 times as many striker fired guns in the US as Smith and Wesson has and probably 100x the number Heckler and Koch has. So of course more jackasses own Glocks than the other brands. More repsonsible, well trained shooters also own Glocks than the other brands. More people own Glocks.
Full disclosure: DA/SA is my prefernce. I only own one Glock, a 20SF, and only because our choices in 10mm are so limited.Pooty Poot, you sure screwed the pooch this time! - Ghost of Roza Shanina, WWII Soviet SniperComment

Curious how real 10mm loads are in the 29 VS the 20. Have the 20 and shot some decent rounds, but watching the Hikock45 video looks like the 29 really thumps. Have a 26 and 20 and was thinking of I could consolidate and just get a 29, I'd cover all bases with 1 gun.Comment

No need to feel sorry. We're all entitled to our opinions. I have mine about Glocks. And it pretty much extends to all striker fired weapons that keep the striker under spring tension (unlike my P7 favorite).
I love the 1911 for the range, but not for duty carry for the same reasons. Too many unintended discharges. Folks that claim "Glock Leg" is preventable through proper weapon handling are absolutely correct. But I'll just observe that there isn't enough of that going around and that's why "Glock Leg" is too commonly encountered. Got to deal with things as they they are, not the way we would like them to be.Comment

I'm hoping that folks catch on to my facetious distain for Glocks and Texas. I'm sure that there is a kind, gentle and humble Texan somewhere in the state. I just haven't found one yet. I always find the Texan driving the elevated pick-up truck and turning left in front of whatever rental car I'm driving when there.I'm no Glock fanboi, but since no one else has pointed this out, I have to. But your point about the standard distribution of "jackasses" and "responsible, well trained shooters" only holds true if there is a random distribution of the populations in each group. I'm not so sure that's true. The group of folks that tend to hold their handguns horizontally and shout "Booyaa" while shooting, then to have an affinity to Glocks (it's a status, or cult, thing). Unskilled shooters are also probably drawn to lower price weapons, and that skews that population toward Glocks. At the same time, the folks who pay the exorbitant prices for an HK likely have a greater understanding of the weapon and are less likely to be knuckleheads (and more likely to be broke).
In all seriousness, it really boils down to what one is comfortable with. I learned shooting revolvers and carried Model 19, 66, 686's during my early years as a deputy. I got to be good with the revolver. It became a standing joke with the range staff that I would always qualify with either a 297 or 298 score (out of 300). Never did better and never did worse. When we converted to the Beretta's, I never shot out of the 280's. I've always been a fan of guns having large holes in the barrel, so I went to the .45 HK when the Sheriff authorized them. I never did adjust to the plastic frame. I just didn't like it. Nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't what I was used to.
So I'll continue my rant against Glocks, even though I'm sure that there are some good shooters with Glocks. And I'll still continue my rant against Texas until I can find a humble Texan, who don't turn left right in front of me.If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. I'm with you on Texas.Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Here are a few production guns I know of. There are others that are more high dollar guns.
Glock 20 10mm 3rd and 4th gen (3rd gen is on the CA roster I think).
Springfield Armory XDM 10mm.
Smith & Wesson M&P 10mm (NEW).
Rock Island Armory 1911 10mm.
Smith & Wesson 610 10mm Revolver.
Ruger 1911 10mm.Comment

My LGS got another SIG P220 Hunter with the stupid gator dip. I started thinking about it again. Is 10mm ammo any easier to find? I haven't seen any around here at the stores with halfway decent ammo prices. Here are a few production guns I know of. There are others that are more high dollar guns.

I think it depends on your use . . . for carrying hot loads in grizzly bear country or something, the 20 may be preferable, especially if you're able to use the 15 round mags.Curious how real 10mm loads are in the 29 VS the 20. But, recoil isn't bad at all in the 29SF in my experience, with a variety of defensive and target rounds (though I haven't tried the hottest rounds such as Buffalo Bore).
Since you mentioned the 26 - the grip is wider and taller on the 29SF, so it's a lot easier to get a good hold on it.Comment
