Glock 17, I went to the range and rented it because I had never shot a handgun before and I was going into the police academy. over a year later, I am still hooked.

Luger P08.
When I was around 11 or 12 years old, my dad and I went fishing with a neighbor man and his two sons. As I was intent on my line in the water, suddenly there was a loud crack that startled me so much that I fell down into the bush beside me, which turned out to be stinging nettle. I pulled myself out and went to see what was going on. They had set up some cans across the road and pulled out the Luger that I hadn't known they had. They let me shoot one shot, and I nailed my can. The thing that surprised me was that as I squeezed the trigger, it seemed like the instant it fired, I found my arms holding it straight up overhead.
My first overall firearm experience was with a .22 rifle at 4-H camp when I was 9.He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.

I can honestly say I have no idea. Don't know if that is a good or bad thing. I do know the first rifle I shot was a no name .22 bolt action when I was 4, on a farm in Minnesota shooting at jack rabbits. I didn't hit any of them but I can still visualize it. One of my earliest memories for sure. Also caught my first fish on that same trip and have a picture of me holding it up.Absolute power corrupts absolutely, even on Calguns.

.38 special 4" barrel. Really a pleasant shooter.Originally posted by Paladin(Please skip the lame "two weeks" replies.)Originally posted by Ford8NIf I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them, Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in, I would have done it. In 1962 I purchased a Remington 1911A1 from the NRA for about $15,bought some ammo and drove out of Tucson to try out my surplus 45acp handgun. I wasn't impressed with the accuracy when I rocked my hand the slide was really loose. At that time 03A3's,1903's & carbines were selling for $14.95 while an M1 Garand was $49.95 but I was a newly married student at the Univ of Az on a NYS higher education assistance loan & receiving a K Vet GI Bill check of $135/month.I didn't have money for guns.Last edited by scr83jp; 06-05-2009, 5:08 PM.Comment
