I'm watering at the mouth on the prospect of picking up gucci guns bought by liberals who end up selling because they dont know what to do to them.

+/- $1000 is nothing to those "gucci liberals". They will just keep the guns and ammo in a shoebox on a shelf in the bedroom closet unless a wife/GF requires that they get rid of it. Most have secretly wanted to own a Glock / handgun since they got hair between their legs.

I have been keeping an eye on the Marketplace and also some sporting good stores.

There seems to be a lot more on the marketplace and also various bumps for threads. Judging on the prices it seems that the market has peaked for these crazy prices for now.

Since ammo is easier to track it seems ads that ask for more than 50c/rd for 45 or 9 are just hanging around. That may have been the peak. I also have noticed there are more availability at sporting good stores for ammo, still very limited but not completely dry anymore.

Also noticed that prices for handguns seem to have dropped as well for common models/commodity units. Don't see too many $1000+ ads for a stock G17/19, etc. I have noticed a number of ads now with price drops as well. At same time there are reports of more guns landing at LGS, etc at more reasonable prices.

Hopefully this trend continues, but who knows what comes by end Oct/Nov.

If everyone just chill a bit , prices will continue to drop and supply will catch up. Just don't buy at these crazy prices of 80c to $1 per round for ball ammo. Unless you absolutely need it, just wait, or at least just buy what you absolutely need. Don't try to stockpile now for the future, that is what is causing the issue. And yes I know it has been said a million times here already :-)

I haven't been to the lgs in a while, went today to pick up a Walther PPQ for my lady to ccw. They had no handgun, 223 or 762/39 ammo at all, an aisle full of various shells and about half an aisle of various hunting calibers. I did notice a lone box of .308 for an unknown price. There was a generic brand AR for $500 and a couple more for under a grand, a handful of Kimbers and other 1911s, and a wall full of Glock, SW and Springfields. All in all, probably about 100 firearms on display.

I've got a 9mm Banshee carbine coming into a different shop tomorrow that I'm gonna go pick up. I'm curious to see what their stock is looking like.

Last week on PSA I noticed they put up 3 AK 9mm pistols listed between $860-$960 and they were gone within about 15 mins. As of right now, the only AR they have is an $1,100 224 Val., they got cleaned out this weekend... I've been checking their stock online every morning and afternoon to see what is coming into stock, whats moving quickly and whats not.

One thing I've noticed is that S&W MPs, Springfields and other handguns that are CA approved are seeing price increases while stuff you cannot get in CA and probably other states like NY, NJ, MA, MD have remained stable. I saw a 380 Bodyguard on PSA for $450 the other day, the MSRP on S&W website is $379. A few weeks ago I picked up a couple new ccws, an FN 503 for $499, which is $50 below the MSRP listed on FN's website, and an FN 509 for a hundred below website MSRP. We also had no problem getting that Walther at a reasonable price. Simple supply and demand, about 25% of the nations population is forced into a handful of "state approved" manufacturers and models and now that there is a shortage, there are a lot more people all going for the same handful of in stock and available M&P Shields or Springfield XDs.

Two weeks ago at a Bullseye match, a guy I know who sells estate sales weapons on Gunbroker was commenting on the insane prices people are paying for firearms. I remember him commenting about the high price auction price a Universal M1 carbine sold for.

If you know your carbines, you know that Universal carbines were cheap knockoff's of Government carbines.

Anyway, it appears the panic buying insanity of the Obama administration is back again.

The covid punks selling Glocks @$800+ and 9mm @50 cents a round pissed me off so bad that I decided to do something about it. I couldn’t do much besides help a few people. I sold an Springfield XD with 5 mags, mag pouch, holster, range bag, hard case, (the gear up package) for $520. Not a great deal, but I felt good with it. Then I sold a Smith and Wesson Shield with 4 mags and a holster for $500, again just a fair deal. Lastly, I overheard some guy in a gun store super bummed that the store that sold him his AR15 didn’t have any ammo, nor did anyone else. So I gave him my number and sold him 300 rounds of 5.56. All brass, some green tips. I threw in a box of .223. There are just too many thinking “how can I benefit off of someone’s need?” That said, the people I helped were decent people, I wouldn’t do this kind of thing for some formerly anti-gun liberal hypocrite. They can pay $1 a round for 9mm for all I care.

Don't think that you are tracking what is really going on with private ammo sales by looking at ammo ads. Those ads will hang around but not for the reason you think they are.

When the sales taking place that you don't see, eventually stop - the prices will come down and that is when you know something is happening.

Time to recognize - prices on ammo are going up, and anyone twiddling their thumbs over .50/rd better have a big stockpile, because you aren't replacing it for less for awhile, not in any serious quantity anyhow. The real price of name brand 9mm in CA is more like .75+/rd if you pencil it out, easy. Look at those ammoseek numbers. And most of those lower price vendors will not even ship to CA. The name brand stuff is going for $1/rd at the suppliers who have it in stock (CCI, Fed, Fiocchi)


Yes if you trundle around from store to store you might stumble on a few boxes at $20 or less per box, but ain't nobody got time for dat.

I've got about 30 different "email me when in stock" for different ammo at TSUSA, so far only one has notified me, and I paid 10cpr over non-pandemic price for that (brass PPU 7.62x54r). I have a feeling when I get other notifications for normal rounds the price will be stupid and I'll pass.
