I think stupid high prices are pulling back

I like surfing the Market place.

I'm noticing a lot of unanswered "Bumps" for ads with nothing but the OP posting bumps.

Recently what made me laugh was the $650 Remington R51. A known POS and is on gunbroker multiple times for less than $300 without any bids. Folks aren't even touching it or that in free states. HAHAHAHA

Anyway............ Just making my comments here because I don't want to break the rules.

I think folks have figured it out. I see Gen5's moving at sub $1500, and Gen3's getting interest at $700~ But I think the days of stupid STUPID prices are behind us.

Not entirely related to stupid prices, but I think Glock Gen4's are going to lose most their premium. I have 3's and 4's and honestly, a 4 is pretty much the same as a 3 without the back straps (which I don't even use).

I can see the premiums for 43s 44s, and things you can't get in a comparable Gen3, but I just don't see the premiums for Gen4 17/19 holding over Gen3's in the long term, certainly not in the +300 range. Maybe $100-200.

We have some chucklehead listing an M17 @ $2K.

    $743 retail.

    Things aren't that improved.

      - G-17/19 price below MSRP pop up more often on the LGS and online stores lately.
      - No ammo shortage in Canada, the ammo manufactures just stop ship to Canada and ship to US.

      - Some of honest LGS sell primmer at the Pre Wuhan Virus price

I think the market for new guns at the stores is still strong, especially among new buyers. The used market seems to be settling back down. By settling down, I mean at least I'm not seeing people asking double just because they have something used that's out of stock new.

The "off roster" gen3 Gucci Glock is cute. But no way it will sell for what the current asking is.

If Biden wins ( hopefully not! ) it will get much, much worse. That will kick off another panic.

Perhaps some Calguns market calming; unless the results of the election stirs things up again.

Can't say much abotu stupid high prices, but talking to my LGS yesterday they said the opposite. They recently had a shipment of 9mm ammo come in and it was gone 15 minutes after they opened their doors. The Glocks (and pretty much any 9mm semi auto) they occasionally get in stock are gone the same day. Shotguns and 10/22's sit around a little bit longer but will sell out in a few days. I asked them if things seem to be cooling down compared to a few months ago and they said no way.

I'm convinced things won't let up until after Trump wins, the riots stop, and the China virus is gone. If Biden wins the election things will only get worse!

Prices are only ridiculously high is because ridiculous people are paying the asking price.
I'm all for free market and all...t's not personal, it's business. However, there needs to be some better moral compasses as to how much you're charging.
But at the end of the day...an asking price doesn't always mean the end selling price.
If people stop paying for stupid prices, people will lower their stupid high prices.
                    Simple.

I'm watering at the mouth on the prospect of picking up gucci guns bought by liberals who end up selling because they dont know what to do to them.

Went to gunshop to buy ammo, 9mm, 38 Special and 22LR. They all laughed at me! Looked at the display case to see what the fuss is with about 4-5 people trying to get dibs. It was all CA roster approved Shield 9mm and a Glock something, couldn’t get closer to verify. Glock I heard was $725, didn’t bother asking what the Shield is priced at.

Gun stores are completely cleaned out around me still. No guns, no ammo. Seriously doubt the price bubble is over yet...
