Yes, we know. You troll every 1911 thread you possibly can to tell us how you once had a 1911 and had problems with it and because of that the Glock is a much superior weapon.

Someday maybe you will accept the fact that you are in the minority with your hatred for 1911's.

I don't like Glocks but you don't find me in Glock threads trolling its supporters.

No, who would have thunk of that.
You had one 1911 and it was not the run of the mill. If you buy enough of anything manufactured, you will come across ones that need a touch up.

Almost love my 1911s because they shoot so nicely. If they were closer to 99% reliable I would fully love them. And this sounds weird but my most accurate gun is my TRP, and certainly one of the most fun/accurate 9mms I have is a SA 9mm 1911. Of the 1911s I do own ... the least expensive one, the RIA Tactical is actually the most reliable. I know, I know ... because it's sloppy. Whatever.

However, though I'm no master shooter, I've shot enough matches and classes to really really value reliability. I don't get that from my 1911s or my "souped up" SP-01, but I do get that from my PPQ and Glocks. So I value them for that.

In anycase, why do you have to be one "guy" or the other? Can't you like both? I know guys who own Porsches and Civics in the same garage. They go to work in the Civic and impress their friends on the weekends with the Porsche. Why not both?
I use the term "Glock/1911 guy" loosely. I'm not ANTI-Glock... just get much more enjoyment out of my 1911 when shooting for fun.

My Glock is still my go-to gun if I ever need it for a home/self defense scenario, and is the one sitting by my bedside.

Same thing happened to me.I shot a friends rock island GI 1911,went to the gun store to get one and ended up with a SA 1911 Loaded. The fit and finish was so much better on the SA imo. Im glad I didn't touch a les Baer or a Wilson combat.

Look, glocks will go bang every time. And given a sufficiently large enough target, will hit the target every time. Granted, some glock owners have had to boil their frame or something to get it to shoot straight, but a gun that can be boiled is pretty cool.

And 1911's, you have to buy different grips for it. There's such a large variety that you blow all your money on panels and can't shoot it because you have none left for ammo. Glocks have no such issues.

And don't get me started on sights. You'd think 1911 shooters could just accept a piece of plastic on the back. But no. There's more money gone.

Most 1911 jams are from reloading brass that's been run through a glock. It's one of the benefits of shooting a glock. I guess.

1911's usually don't come with rails. Rails are cool. Rails mean you're cool. In fact, operators have rails. So rails on a gun makes you an operator. And we know operators are cool. Glocks have rails. I think.

And for the price of one decent 1911 you can buy like 4 or 5 glocks. And 4 or 5 guns is way better than 1. It's kinda like a bogo. Or a bog3. That's a deal dude.

Also, glock triggers spoil no one. So you can move from glocks to another platform and suffer no ill effects, and in fact not even notice any difference other than "hey, this is a nice trigger".

It's also cool that they have no aesthetically pleasing characteristics. See, when you operate, things get cra-cra. And sometimes the gun gets scratched. You ever hear a glock owner say "damn, I scratched the gun"? No, and in fact, you can't even tell. That's cool.

See, glocks win. They're cool. Guess I'll have to sell all my 1911's. Damn. Hope I can find a buyer.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

I own all types of 9mm and .45's, although mainly 1911's for .45's.

Out of all my semis, the only one that ever jammed on me was a brand new Glock 17-- Do I think Glocks have issues? no not at all. It was a bad magazine and worked great after replacing it at LGS.

I have a SW 1911, SA TRP, and Wilson Combat and none have ever given me one issue w FMJ or JHP.

I just make sure I found a mag type I love-- Chip McCormick Power mags, and never use other's reloads.

I love my 1911's, but then again, I also love my Glock 30sf!!!- 10 rds .45ACP in that smallish package!!!!

1911 is not hype...it's reality. Congrats.

Today I went down to the range and took my 1911 for the first time as well as my XD. First off, let me say maybe it's because it's my first 1911, but I just love the way a 1911 feels in your hand. It's not like any other handgun. Secondly, and maybe it's because I didn't buy an entry level 1911(I could be wrong) but the TRP shoots amazing and extremely accurately. I was hitting bullseyes at 25 yards no problem when I was struggling with my XD at 15.

Anyways, just wanted to share my story and say how stoked on my TRP, 1911s are definitely a different breed and am hooked .
As this video shows 1911 are classy and it's a privelege to be accepted as "One of Us". It's not for everyone, it's a tool for pros as this vid shows...

Sumpser realizes he likes 1911...rethinks it...

My favorite handgun to shoot is my Browning Hi Power... kinda the same... only more elegant right from the box.

But the 1911 is wonderful, a natural pistol for pointshooting.

I have a lot of handguns but the only ones that are special to me are my Hi Power, my 1911 and my .357 magnum. The rest are just interchangeable tools.
