        DO NOT LOOK AT...
Wilson, DAN wesson, Nighthawk, Ed Brown, Guncrafter or Les Baer web sites...

DO NOT JOIN the 1911 Forum...

These are wise things I share with you...these are very dangerous things for you to attempt as a 1911 rookie....

Save yourself now...ship that paperweight to me now and quit while you can.

            Haha.

I do appreciate 1911s and have two, a Colt Government and a Springer 9mm.

Just couldn't resist the funny meme.

I never really regretted the decision. It was a great gun but had its flaws. There are many other guns that are great but don't have functional flaws.

My first purchased handgun was a 1911, I have some pretty fancy newer guns and I've put a lot of money into Tupperware but I can still say that my 1911 is my favorite gun hands down. Shoots awesome, feels great in the hand, accurate and looks amazing.

I actually laughed at it too, no worries, I take everything on here with a grain of salt, it's no different than comparing ford to chevys.

As much as I love my TRP and am amazed how well it shoots, I don't see myself getting into anymore 1911s. Like I said I'm a rifle guy, but I do love this gun😉

The hardest part about owning a 1911 is being content with what you have...

I ended up with railed stainless Sig 1911, it's really nice and I prefer it over the SA Loaded 1911s, but after shooting a friends Dan Wesson and Les Baer you start to see appreciate the fit finish and other refinements. Then you start mentally justifying the cost the more time you spend with them.

Funny thing is I used to give my friends a hard time about what they spent but I do the same thing with my rifles and optics so I get it...

A SIG Nitron is not a true 1911 - But I wouldn't mind having one either.
Perhaps. But, it sure felt nice.

I'm not really a handgun guy, the amount of rifles I own far outweighs my handguns. I have a Beretta 92, a Springfield XD40, and my latest addition, a Springfield TRP Operator with the full rail.

Today I went down to the range and took my 1911 for the first time as well as my XD. First off, let me say maybe it's because it's my first 1911, but I just love the way a 1911 feels in your hand. It's not like any other handgun. Secondly, and maybe it's because I didn't buy an entry level 1911(I could be wrong) but the TRP shoots amazing and extremely accurately. I was hitting bullseyes at 25 yards no problem when I was struggling with my XD at 15.

Anyways, just wanted to share my story and say how stoked on my TRP, 1911s are definitely a different breed and am hooked .
I had the exact same experience. To me what makes the biggest difference is the single action trigger. Ever since I got my first 1911, I think they are the best. I haven't found any other handgun that comes close to matching the quality of a 1911.

Gratz and welcome to the 1911 club. Btw, Your bullseye must be big cuz at 25 yards, I can't see mine.
