Between the two, the Kimberly for sure. Reason number one: The "TACTICAL" lettering stamp on the side of the TRP has got to be the cheesiest mall ninja marking on any pistol, ever... I've had a couple Springfields and a couple Kimbers, both run just fine. Skip the "TACTICAL" option.

        I will always take a series 70 over a series 80.

This is not an apples to apples question... If the choice is between the two, there should be no hesitation... the TRP.

Kimber 8-10 years ago might have been a consideration, but these days? Springfield everyday and twice on Sunday.

I yesterday just held and compared Kimber Vs Springfield. I purchased a Springfield. Just felt better , Had the ambi safety I was looking for. Also what helped me decide was Kimbers lack of warranty. I just could not get over the one year warranty Kimber has! At that price range IMHO the warranty should be a lot better. I felt I got a better value for what I paid getting the Springfield.

Buy Both if You can afford to and You decide after shooting them a while which is better. If You can only get one I would say "Springfield" due to all the obvious reasons already stated above and because I LOve my Professional, it eats anything I feed it and is more accurate than Me

SA all day. Love my RO 9 and pickup my no-rail TRP from jail next week. Parts already enroute from Brownells for ILS removal. And I don't like rusty new pistols.

Not a "TRP" and not a "Custom II".

                            I really like my Kimber:
