That's quite a vague question. Perhaps a little more specificity would help.

I've owned 2 Kimbers and more than 10 Springfields...

        SA for the win.

Great value for the price at Loaded, TRP, and Custom levels.

So you don't give much detail in your question, but here is a off the wall idea

Try sending each of them an e-mail with questions you have about the specific model you are interested in, and see how fast or slow they respond.

Then call them on the phone and ask them some other questions, perhaps about their warranty and maybe some technical questions and see if they are responsive.

This might give you an idea on the level of customer service you can expect to receive from each company. Just a thought

I'd skip the Swartz and go Springfield...and that's exactly what I've done.

Thanks to all those who have answered. I'm contemplating between the SA TRP and the Kimber Custom 2? I think thats what its called. Both cost the same brand new. I havent had a chance to shoot either, but I've held the kimber.

Having owned quite a few springfields, I can say this. I had to deal with a warranty issue that turned out to be my own fault, and they didn't charge me for being retarded. I have also sent my trp operator for work at the custom shop. They are quick to reply to any question you have, and keep you up to speed during the whole process. The only reason to get a kimber is if you want 10mm because I think it's the only one left on the roster?

I have both. With mine, the Kimber has a tighter slide to receiver fit and the Springfield has a better trigger. Both are more accurate than me. Both are awesome, the Springfield will leave you with money left over. I've worked with the Springfield warranty service for my XD, and had a positive experience regarding the work and the turn around time. I have no experience with Kimber's shop.

A TRP and a Custom II should not cost the same. Either the Kimber is way overpriced, or the TRP is being given away. I've owned a TRP full rail and a few Kimbers and I couldn't tell the difference between them.

Don't listen to the Kimber haters. Springfield uses MIM parts as well. Kimber uses a Swartz safety, Springfield puts an ILS on their 1911s.

To give a real recommendation between the two guns you're considering, we need to know exactly what Kimber you're looking at.

I'd rather have the Springfield for cs alone
