Either one is good. But if i could only have one it would be the Springfield."You cannot invade the mainland of the United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."

You're right. They don't cost the same.
I'm going with the SA for sure. Going to go this weekend.
The TLE is not the same as a "Custom II". The custom II is kimber's entry level gun. The link below is a "custom II".

And you're looking at the MC OP and not a TRP. Big difference in price when buying new.https://www.turners.com/springfield-...erator-4-10883

Both arevvery nice. There are a lot of very nice 1911s out there. Somebody end up falling into one camp over another. My uncle owns a lot of really nice Kimbers, and they are all very fun to shoot. I tend to enjoy them all.
Budget combined with what features you want, mixed with what deal you manage to find...tend to be the deciding factor for me.
I no longer own the entry level Kimber Custom II I used to own. I enjoyed it. Got a great deal on it used.
Received a Sig TTT CA 1911 two Christmas' ago new. Would not have been my first choice based on research. However, having owned it and shot it for the past two years...I have become a big fan of the Sig 1911s. Well balanced, shoots like a dream, and somehow packs less punch than my Kimber did. Both are 45acp.
I've never owned a Springfield, but I have shot a few. Enjoyed them.Last edited by tacticalcity; 02-21-2016, 7:45 PM.Comment

Plus the TLE/RL can be purchased for ~$100 less too...The TLE is not the same as a "Custom II". The custom II is kimber's entry level gun. The link below is a "custom II".

TRP and MC Op besides front strap checkering, not that much of a difference. MC Op actually has the better recoil spring setup.
I would take the series I Kimber over the S.A., Warrior, Super carry HD, etc. But if restricted to the roster you are stuck with either the firing pin safety(Kimber) or the internal locking system(Springfield).Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.Comment

Removing the ILS from any SA is a 10 minute job and $13 in parts. While I've never had an issue with the ILS, they are always removed sooner or later. The only benefit is that it saves having to buy a lock when picking up after 10 day wait.**** your feelings!Comment
