[QUOTE=hermosabeach;16701277]oil on handguns... grease is reserved for semi auto and bolt lugs..
I have used pretty much everything... no favorite so far...
A quart of Slick 50 and a tube of white lithium grease seem to be a lifetime supply...[/QUOTE

WEAPON SHEILD.
I am no spokesman but if you want the most or rather least wear possible check out there youtube and you'll see why they brag.
I used it on a Rainier arms Milspec BCG for hundreds of rounds and yeah it works but is expensive.
I used the liquid froglube at some time it sucked because after a while of storage it gummed up my mossberg and wouldnt fire same with a 1911.
The liquid is a total gimmick and POS.
So a friend desperate to convince me gave me a paste tub, now that stuff works as advertised. Its pretty good and inpressed me but it is not worth the 20 bucks most LGS retail for 4oz.
Honestly sometimes you just cant tell I hav heard of great things from motor oil, my brother came back from basic in DEC he said his unit used MIL TEC, again IDK.
Whatever works for you, waste your money if you want but the most protection from wear and foul will be petroleum based and toxic.
I also used gun-ease from PWS a total POS its like water and fine sand and smells like gum but only greases up my guns and doesn't do anything motor oil doesn't do except smell good.Comment

Tetra Grease--No matter how thinly it's spread out it still feels slick.Comment

Super Lube here...
But really, grease is grease. Firearms slide rails are not the most demanding applications. It was just an old plywood boat, with a '75 Johnson, with electric choke. A young boy, two hands on the wheel, I can't replace the way it made me feel.Comment

I use Weapon Shield Grease on the locking lugs and rails of my 1911s. Slip 2000 EWG Grease works good, too.Comment
