    What are you using now?

    BTW
This question always produces a phone book of answers because everybody has their weapons lube du jour and emotions will eventually run highest when we reach the "MDS" data sheet part of the discussion about lubricity/toxicity etc.. "Frog lube"
So if you're using low $ grease from the automotive store it'll work fine. Really.

Spending lots of $ on lube is something a hooker should do.

Any brand of high temp wheel bearing grease. If you're a mechanic, you probably have some around, or you could beg or borrow a few ounces from some one who has a can--usually sold in 1 lb cans, which would last you about276 yrs of personal gun use.

In a nutshell, you don't need anything fancy.

But for the record, I use Hoppes gun oil, because it came with a cleaning kit I bought a long time ago, 3-in-1 household oil because it's close at hand, and a tube of oil with teflon in it because it's in this pen-looking dispenser that I bought ar Radio Shack.

The only issue I have with any oil is using too much.

I've been using Hoppes gun oil also, but I thought it would be a good idea to use grease on the slide.

                  Word!

When I bought my first handgun, it was really exciting and being new to them, I thought I needed to use the best stuff there is out there. So I read on the internet how wonderful Frog Lube is and started using it. It is not a bad product mind you (for my purposes) and doesn't stink up my home office, but the biggest problem is price. This stuff is expensive.

So I started looking around and found that SEAL 1 is a similar product at a lower price and started that instead. Seems to work just as well. After a while I started asking myself, am I paying too much for stuff like this?

Then I looked at yet another cheaper product, G96. This product has a nice smell too, and seems to work pretty good too. Right now this is my CLP, not exactly a grease, but a aerosol liquid spray can. It is very convenient though, I like it.

Like LW said, don't waste money on fancy stuff.

oil on handguns... grease is reserved for semi auto and bolt lugs..

I have used pretty much everything... no favorite so far...

A quart of Slick 50 and a tube of white lithium grease seem to be a lifetime supply...

I've been reading a lot of very favorable reviews concerning the new line from Lucas Oil
