Arizona CWP Renewal & New Application Processing

after waiting 2 months and hearing nothing, I called this morning and then 4 hours later got the message that my renewal was approved.

Back i CCCP we had expression-water doesn’t flow to under the rock which doesn’t move. Thus is my level translatiin, but I am sure idea is understandable. This is perfectly works many times I tried!

My timeline:

2/28/2024: App submitted through Permitium and fingerprints mailed priority
3/1/2024: Fingerprints received
3/14/2024: Sent email asking them to confirm that my prints have been received and accepted
3/26/2024: Approval email and text
04/08/24: permit received in mail

It's been about a week and a half since approval email and text; still no card in the mail yet.

Mine arrived last Saturday. After calling they were doing something called batch mailing. I was approved on 3/26. The longest wait was the mailing. It will show up but feels like an eternity.

That?s good to hear. After reading comments from people who received theirs within a week of approval notification, I was beginning to get worried that mine was lost in transit.

It wasn?t priority and unfortunately on envelope it is identifying from CCW Unit from AZ Public Safety.

I waited almost a month after being marked approved for renewal and still my card never showed up in the mail. I finally called last week and they said to go back to Permitium and request a replacement, which I did Friday. If you mark the reason as "never received" you will not have to pay anything.

I started this back on Feb 2 and still have no card. Mine expires today. Now the wait starts all over again - what a scat-show.

I'm glad I read in another thread to email them. I submitted my renewal 1/21 and have been waiting since. I gave them extra time because it said 75 business days. I wrote an email last night before bed and got an email this morning that it's approved and will be mailed tomorrow.

Time line for my Arizona out of state initial CCW Permit -

Application completed and paid on 3/3/24. Two fingerprint hard cards from a certified fingerprint technician sent in 3/6/24 via USPS Priority Mail and showed received 3/8/24.
Checked a few times as to the progress of my application on Permitium with no changes and showing PENDING yellow bar each time. On 4/30/24, 56 days past I made a
call to their ccw department and spoke with a friendly gal who asked for my social no. Then reported I was still in a background hold however she sees that its ready to be
pushed through to the determination department and will do so within 24 hours. Also if they need anything more from me they will send me an encrypted message to request it.
Within an hour after that call I received a text on my phone (AZDPS CCW Order Nbr: is APPROVED. Your permit will be mailed to you) Shortly after I received a voice mail
that said the same. Currently awaiting permit in the mail.

I did hear from others similar situations where if 30 to 60 days passes then its good to make a call in to "push" the process through a bit.

Thank you for that notice. The first time I applied for my CCW 4 years ago, I did not have any slowness on their part. I far a I was concerned, It was a good process.
I wonder what happened??

My renewal lapsed and AZ never got back to me before 90 days after my non-resident permit expired, so now I have to reapply for a new permit. Not a big deal but I'm out $43 and now have to pay another $60 for the new app.

Remind me again..... for the training requirements is it better to send a copy of my current CA CCW permit? Or should I use the 16hr CCW training class certificate that I also have? Is one better to use than the other?
