I emailed her on the 7th May and she said we were on hold and no estimate as to when things would be moving forward.
Do you have an idea of when your friend said this. Something more than couple weeks. ??? Cause I emailed the 7th and got answer the same day.

I don't have the exact date, the approval email was received about two weeks ago. Definitely after the 7th. He applied in October. This is a 100% reliable source.

I just looked at their website. I would not expect anything that can not be done via email to happen until this stuff clears up.

Yea, we'll see if they actually let him pick up the permit once the training cert. and letters is submitted. Usually it takes like a week for it to be ready for pick up once everything is in.

That's interesting news. I didn't expect the the Sheriff to take approach.

I highly doubt it, but someone should reach out to Alicia and ask. I don't want to piss her off by continuing to bother her about this.

I think it would also be beneficial of more people were to contact her and express there dislike with the modification policy.

Also, applications are moving forward, so be patient. I have direct contact with someone who finally got notice from the SCSO that their live scan came back and their permit is approved pending training certificate and character reference letter submission. They are just waiting on training now. This happened withing the past couple weeks.

So, funny story.....
Sent Alicia an email, curious about the SO opening and status of my Livescan, she replies "call me please"...
She answered the phone and said there is a hiccup with my application.
Apparently, I was fingerprinted by Santa Rosa Police office for trespassing in 2009. Something I had completely forgotten.
Long story short, all the memories came flooding back. Me and my ex lady at the time were invited to go hot tubbing at her acquaintances apartment. Apparently, they didn't live there. Police were called and politely came and asked us to leave, which my lady and I were happy to do. The chicks boyfriend got mouthy with the officer, called us back, and wrote us a citation. Alicia asked me to write her an explanation, and that I should be good to go. So Dumb of me, but pretty funny. I guess my record isn't as clean as I thought, lol. She said my incident isnt something that should get in the way of my application.
Now, to expunge that from my record...

She said once they re-open their office, but had no idea when. Essick said he was no longer enforcing shelter in place as of June 1st, so I am hoping this week, but thats my own speculation.

They are still processing albeit very slowly. Might as well get your application in, couldn't hurt.

Has anyone actually picked one up recently? I'm curious if they finally switched to the ID card permit rather than the gigantic piece of laminated paper. They were supposed to switch to the ID card style beginning of 2020, but it was delayed. Hopefully they have implemented that now.
