Are RMRs generally allowed on a CCW handgun? From what I could find on this thread it is at the discretion of the training facility and must stay in the same form that you qualified with. Has anyone qualified using a handgun equipped with an RMR?

Thanks for the quick reply, who did you end up doing the qualifications through if you don't mind me asking? As an additional aside, I think I read that you can change out "grips", does anyone know if a stippled GLOCK is okay?

Actually, this confused me because the Solano Sheriff CCW website actually seems to contradict itself on this.

On the Solano Sheriff CCW main page under the topic: "To apply for a CCW license renewal within Solano County," it says to submit your packet at least 60 days prior to expiration, but that it can be submitted as much as 6 months prior.

However, if you then click on the link to begin the online renewal process and then click on: "RENEW Concealed Carry Weapon License," it says that:

"Renewal requests are not accepted earlier than 60 days from the expiration date listed on their current Concealed Weapon license."

It was because of this conundrum, I submitted my renewal packet (targets and all) at just barely over 60 days prior. That was three months ago as of today.

Yea, I learned that the hard way on my last renewal. So this time I applied a tad bit over 90 days prior.

I suggest everyone apply at least 90 day prior to expiration date.

They even suggested that in the renewal class.
