See two posts above yours. Yes self defense will work but you also have to have an explanation of why. I made my initial,appointment back in December and am still waiting for background to be completed, probably have another month wait I suspect.

To my knowledge nothing has change. I have renewed several times. You do need a good cause statement ... personal protection alone will not likely work. Many of us run small businesses, carry or collect cash, have to be out late, are in risky situations due to our vocation, etc. The Sheriff and or his Deputies will do a backround check, crazy stuff in you history will not fly, no DUI, no violent crimes, no history of continued stupid stuff (we all have something, but hopefully maturity has prevailed), pretty much if you are good citizen with clean record you should have no problem. Good luck and would love to have another good guy armed.

As for the why I have an idea, wasn't the San Bernardino shooting in Dec which at that point appointments were three months out and thus more began calling for appointments which would be in the April/May time frame?

April/May was when Hillary really went on the Anti-2A bandwagon and the press started to really pick up on it. I suspect the surge statewide may have had something to do with that.

That may be but the appointments in April and May were most likely scheduled in December/ January time frame.

Like I said I made my initial appointment in December and the earliest they had was end of March.
