Perhaps someone here can help clarify one of the questions on the CCW renewal paperwork.

Section 2, Question 2 asks: "Have you ever applied for and been denied a CCW license?"

When I applied for the first time for my CCW permit at the Solano County Sheriff's Office, the permit was initially denied (I had neglected to include my employer authorization with my application), but after appealing the decision (and submitting the authorization), the denial was reversed and the permit was granted.

So would that be considered a denial, or does it not count because it was ultimately granted upon appeal?

It depends on who does your training and certification. There is no standard.

They are paper targets. Nothing to worry about. If you can handle your gun semi safely, there is no issue.

Yea I am fairly certain I get that the targets are paper. What style?

Not what are they made of.

Here let me show you since you apparently did not understand the question.

These are the targets he uses during the training drills. This picture was several years ago, so i don't know if its changed.

This is what the qualification targets look like. This is 5 strings of 10 rounds each from 5-15y or so. Most people fire at a brisk pace but its not timed.

This reminds me, I need to contact Dave as my 2nd renewal is coming up.

Thank you that is the kind of information I was seeking.

Not worried or stressed about it one bit, I simply wanted to know for practice purposes. It doesn't hurt to practice as much as I can prior to taking any class.

I'm not saying you should not practice firing your weapon. You probably just don't have to be firing at the identical targets you use in class. But it is up to you. Whatever you do, be safe!

My son wants to apply for his CCW he works and lives in Solano county but has no proof of residency because he lives with me and all the bill are in my name what would be the easiest way to show proof. He does have car registration.

I agree -- whenever in doubt, please ask Kellie. However, due to the high volume of applications she's trying to process, I think an email to her would probably be better. It's difficult to focus on paperwork when the phone is constantly ringing.

                              Here are the instructions:

                              Use this form: https://www.solanocounty.com/civicax...x?blobid=18403

Basically you use the Initial Form and fill out only the relevant fields applicable to renewal as per the instructions... and it is cheaper of course too than the initial cost. You may need a .PDF writer software to write on the document after you open/save it your computer.

Thanks, but I know where to find the instructions, fees, etc. I'm asking if there's already a WRITEABLE version saved here. My initial application and renewals were from a writeable version on Calguns. Now that there is a newer application (within last 2 years), i wanted to see if there was already a writeable version. And fyi- I'm not computer savy.
                                Thanks
