My 2nd renewal is coming up in May so I emailed Kellie last week. She said I should contact her about 8 weeks in advance to turn in my renewal app and training docs.

On my first renewal application I put something like.

"My original reasons for requesting my LTC remain valid today so I am including my original good cause statement below for your convenience"

that is all that should ever be required. Looking forward to hearing if it works again

So do you have to retake the CCW class or simply requalify?

Dave runs a separate class for requal. But there is classroom and shooting and then qual.

            Solano - UPDATE (2014 April 12)

Dropped off paperwork last Tuesday and the deputy said they will be adding more appointment days soon. He said hopefully in March they will switch to Tuesday/Thursday and also start taking appointments all day long. They are on track to significantly reduce the wait times and issue faster overall.

My permit is expiring in September this year. How far in advance should I submit the renewal application paperwork? I think I recall Kellie saying around July but not positive.

This will be the first renewal of my permit.

"It is recommended that renewal application packets are submitted 4-6 weeks prior to current permit expiration date".

IMHO, as early as possible since most government agencies are jammed pack. The Secretary of State alone was overwhelmed in trying to process notary applications

Has anyone had any issues with contacting Dave in the past? I sent him a email a week ago and called twice. I recently paid for his Ccw seminar and I had a email sent to me with the PayPal receipt. How did you guys who paid for this class, enroll in it?

Dave's been at the Shot Show & the last I heard, he was fielding about 103 emails. He has a Face Book account for his business if you want to follow him on there. I enrolled in his past classes by email & telephone. Before he had his payment process on the site, I wrote him a check.

He's a good guy, just swamped like the rest of us

I'd recommend Frazier Baptist. He's who I always use for modifications. He's a bit eccentric but he always makes the class fun.
