Anyone get any calls to pick up their license during the last half of this week?

So, given this application process has taken basically 10+ months, and the permit itself is only valid for 2 years (what a joke!), should we basically be applying for renewal after only one year or risk it lapsing while you are "in-process"?

I wish this question was a joke -- because this situation with SCCSO sure is!

I was told I have been approved for training since Aug, but somehow I never got any email, phone call, or text message about that. I was also told to take training asap since there is a 90 days window. But since I never got the official email from Permitium, I am not sure what is the correct step. Do I just upload the training document to Permitium and email SCSO, and they will send me the link for payment?
Sorry to hear about that mix up

You are correct. Just upload the completed training documents to Permitium and email a copy to SCCSO.

You?ll then get an automated text, call, and email notifying you that your CCW application is approved, and there will be a link in the email to make final payment.

After final payment, I?d recommend emailing/calling SCCSO to let them know it?s done. Then you just need to wait another 6 months for pick up!

I was part of the 10/21 saber class too, I feel like at this point they are just trolling. When I called them earlier this week, the lady said they will probably call us by the end of next week, or end of this week earliest but she did not want to make any promises.

As of now we're paying $500/month just to be able to carry, and by delaying the issuance, the price is essentially increasing day by day
That?s new info - the call timelines. Hopefully they actually stick to this schedule and we get the calls within a week?s time. I still don?t understand how they were able to turn around permits for the previous group in literally 3 days, but ours are taking more than a week

    It?s quite frustrating lol

I was hoping that would be true going forward, but it?s looking more and more like previous timelines of weeks between approval and issuance.

I called again this morning, but no answer. Let us know if you have any luck

I was part of the 10/21 saber class too, I feel like at this point they are just trolling. The penal code says they must notify us within 30 days "after receipt
of the applicant's criminal background check from the California DOJ", and says nothing about printing out the physical card. So technically they already did their part by notifying us about being approved. It seems like they can legally never give us the physical card if they don't want to, so they aren't in a rush to do so anyways.

I know the lawsuits have been filed for SB2 but who knows how many years and how many renewals we?ll need to go through before they win the lawsuit and give us our rights back.

I?m going to call them again tomorrow and see if they can schedule me for an appt, I think that one member who called and got scheduled just got lucky. Could have just been a new worker who was told ?don?t do that again? lol

I wonder what will happen to those of us in that "in-process" situation when SB2 takes legal effect? As of today, SCCSO isn't doing the character reference line item, not sure about the whole "publicly available information" aspect of it (e.g. social media profiles).
I really don't know what will happen when SB2 takes effect. I suspect they will try to revisit and make you get what is then missing (recommendations).

As for livescan... I suggest doing it once you are close to your psychological evaluation. Mine didn't take long to process (2 days I think). Once, I got the email with the all clear to do the livescan I simply responded back with a request to confirm that they received my already completed livescan. I included the relevant dates and ATI number. They responded in less then an hour with the all clear to proceed with the class. You can find my earlier post for full details.

Waiting on confirmation that I am scheduled for range qualification day mid November. If all goes well I will submit everything before thanksgiving.

Yes, they gave my group a presigned copy at the end of the training session. I?m sure they can send you a PDF version over email
