Holy mother of *censored* -- has anyone contacted CRPA about this? I feel like this needs to be addressed.

(Doing the math, we're gonna go from approx $1051 out of pocket on the old fee schedule to upwards of $1369... that's over $300 increase!)

Wow, so it's updated for new applications going forward (I was lucky enough to pay the old fee).

      That is an incredible rip-off.

The whole concept of references is absurd.

This isn't a background check for a security clearance.

          Oh but isn't it? LMAO!!!

This isn't about anything useful, it's about making sure you announce to your peers you are a pro-2A person, so you are sure to be subject to maximum socio-political stigma when you are "outed" -- it's how these F'ers operate.

The more they can make gun ownership a Scarlet Letter, the happier they are.

Some quick info for someone just trying to apply in SCC.
            Yes, 3 references are required.
Things you need ready to load up on the website: would have been really cool if they listed these before starting the process.
1-Driver's License (no direction on whether you need both sides)
            2-Birth Cert
3-Proof of Residency;2 docs(bills) [I'm screwed because my wife is on all the bills here, my name is all over a home in Stockton(Mom's)]
4-Proof of firearm ownership/Registration (um, WHAT? Am I supposed to show a receipt because I'm not going down and registering anything? Don't they know what I have based on DROS associated to the listed S/Ns?)
            5-Photo for CCW License

There are a couple others but the above represents those listed with a red *, which isn't explained anywhere but one can assume mean must have.

              Thumbs up for Saber Tactics

We had one rainy AF qual session at LARGC this morning (1/10) with Saber Tactics, but high praise for these folks.... we all got it done, despite the pouring rain. They are definitely one of the training outfits to put high on the list when it's time to get trained.

...and now we wait yet again for SCCSO...

They used rubberized "self-healing" targets -- not sure if that's what they had for you back in Nov.

So the big question on my mind now is what happens to those of use who applied in 2023. I went through the process including interview, psychological exam and interview and completed the LifeScan? What now? Will we be forced to start over? Can’t imagine the SCC Sheriffs Office will be much for a simple fix ie just resubmit the application or provide additional documentation.

I'm in the same boat. I'm doing my training next week and I'm done.

I would think and hope that it's for all new applicants starting Jan 1, and anyone who is already in process will be allowed to go through with the old requirements.

Anybody submitted their quals and training certificate to permitium since the new year and get confirmation for final payment fees yet?

Uploaded mine on the 3rd and even emailed them but no dice so far.

Curious if I still pay the old fees or gonna make me pay the new fees.

Damn. I paid $66 on Day 1 and then 271.96 for the last payment. The new fees add an additional $324 for literally nothing.

I spoke to Daniel a couple days ago and he told me that I was "grandfathered in at the previous rates. I applied 2/23/23. Was approved for training on 12/19/23. He did not elaborate on what qualifies someone for "grandfathering". I suspect because the application was submitted, and fees were acknowledged, before the increase.

I completed my training with Saber on 12/30 and uploaded all the docs to Permitium on 1/2 (also emailed to SCSO). I called the sheriffs office on Tuesday, 1/9 and amazingly someone answered! She said the payment emails ?would be sent when they could get to them?. I asked when that might be and she said ?within a couple of days?. Nothing yet, maybe today 🤞
