In case anyone's wondering, Permitium still lists slots for only 3 guns.

Anyone going to pick up your CCW soon, please ask if they'll bump it up to 9 given the change in the underlying form that Santa Clara is based on.

    Thank you!!

And the Instructor that qualified you has to email them you "passed" with make/model/serial number, date, pedigree, etc.

Odd, they already memorialized you were a person of good character, reference checked, background checked, had a shrink drill a hole in your head and look around & sign off, and all the rest. Yet, 15 minutes later they don't trust you to have qualified a new gun? Go figure...

Yes. This is also how I did it.
It?s a good idea to put permitium order #, date, etc. so that whoever is processing your request has all the info in front of him/her in the same email. I got my request processed and email reply received all in less than 2 days.

Well, it sounds like we still have to submit the modification application through permitium with the qualification certificate of the added firearm and pay the fee then email SCCSO Ccw team with the order#, make, model, caliber and serial# of the firearm .

Yes ? pain to do it (change/add/delete CCWs intended for permit) after livescan and training. But incredibly friendly and easy to do it before that via email.

I had a question reguarding LiveScan if anybody might know. I've completed my Pysc testing and interview and LiveScan will be the next step. I also getting around to submit for my FFL03. Can my LiveScan be used for both my CCW and FFL03 or do I have to do two seperate livescans?

Those are two different livescans. They go to different agencies. You don't think they are going to make things convenient, do you?

My pickup is hopefully in the next few weeks.

I have a question that ill ask when there. My question is this.

I have 3 guns listed and qualified with them. Then I decide to switch it up and requal with 3 different guns and submit a change. Then down the road I decide to change back to 1 or more of the original guns. Do I need to requalify with those? Or is it a simple $15 change fee back to original guns?

That could open up summer guns and winter guns.

Good question for those with several handguns. It would make sense to us any qualification document should at least last for the term length of the ccw permit.

I'm guessing the best course of action is for folks to decide on three handguns they can stay with for the 2-year permit. There seem to be some folks who can't even decide what single handgun to buy to start the process.

It is too bad California requiring its IA's to make the process so complicated, where some states will allow folks to carry any handgun desired for the term of the permit while only qualifying with one handgun.

Are there counties which limit permit holders to less than 3 or have limits greater than 3? I think there used to be, out of the 58 counties but with the seemingly high-demand and limited time for processing these requests I don't know anymore.

This is how San Mateo CCW holders lost the ability to modify the guns on their permit. Too many were requesting modifications a month or two after getting their permit so SMSO decided the only time you can make changes is when you renew. They didn't want to deal with the increased workload since processing new applications should be the priority. Don't be "those guys" who ruin it for everyone.

Emailed SCS on Friday the 26th to get an idea of whats going on. Paid my final dues on January 17th. A buddy of mine paid his dues the same and two days later got a call to schedule his pickup.

Here is the reply to my email I got this morning. Most vague reply and clearly they don't care how slow the process is, but will eagerly take your money.

                            Good morning Steve,

Yes, availability to pick up will depend on our availability. When we have some time to schedule you, we will reach out with a few options of days/times for pick-up.

                            Best Regards,

It's the sheriff that's ruining it by not wanting to do his job.
ATF Form 4473: If a frame or receiver can only be made into a long gun (rifle or shotgun), it is still a frame or receiver, not a handgun or long gun.

good to know im not the only one wondering, Im in the same boat, was approved/paid on the 17th, just waiting to get the phone call. not quite sure how the process is handled on the SCSO side, I more and more think that things are just kinda random and whoever's paperwork is at the top of the pile at gets picked for that day.

I assume based on other posts that they are swamped with work and have very few people working on this. just kinda sucks that theres no set in stone process flow. either way, good luck! hopefully the calls come soon!
