The instructors are all current/former LE and big 2A advocates, and the other students in attendance were respectful and attentive. Safety felt like a priority for everyone, so I was very comfortable in that regard. Our cohort had folks from San Mateo County (8), SF (3), and Santa Clara County (2 including me). The in-person class was engaging, meaningful, and very efficient - I can't ask for much more other than maybe going to range not so deep in the mountains lol.

Overall a fantastic experience with Saber Tactics and I look forward to attending some of their other current/future classes.
What are the requirements for the holster at this class? Can students use the holsters they have for their future CCW? Or do they need to bring a certain combination of holster and clothing for this class - e.g. OWB holster at 3 to 5 o'clock position worn under a jacket?

Bring your preferred carry holster in your preferred draw position except for cross-draw. Folks drew from 12 to 5 o'clock with A/IWB and OWB holsters. You will only qualify each firearm once, so bring your favorite holster for each one. Most, if not all, holsters were harder shell variants (Kydex-like). I'd also recommend wearing what you'd expect to wear day to day while concealed carrying, and maybe a jacket if the morning is chilly.

I don't recommend bringing any rigs, battle belts, etc - all the drills were done from concealment. Don't bring any holsters that have active retention locks (ex. index finger release). If you are still unsure, feel free to bring them all or send them an email prior.

The class I did last year asked for OW hip holster only - which was fine by me.

Upon completion, the proctor provided a link to schedule a 1/2 hr virtual 1:1 follow-up. Plenty of days/times available. I selected next-day (tomorrow, 2023May17) morning.

Btw, bearing in mind the advice provided elsewhere in this thread, I took the evaluations in reverse order - started from the bottom and worked my way back to the first one.
Breaks were allowed (no permission required), and besides addressing the large amount of coffee I'd ingested, the several brief breaks I took also served to stave off the boredom haze.

Yeah, weird, but I figure they just overlooked it (new process, backlog, what-have-you), so I'll go ahead and get the livescan scheduled asap.

Hmmm, did you by chance make a donation to the Sheriff's election campaign? ;-)

I know, right? I'm still in a "wincing, waiting for the other foot to fall" conditioned disbelief that this'll still happen.

I also interviewed on 4/12 and haven't heard back at all. I am happy to see that at least some of us are seeing progress. I thought this day would never come haha.

I just completed my psych exam and received the scheduling email the same day to set up my 1 on 1 appointment. Scheduled that for next week.

I was in a time crunch to finish the exam so I was focused, reading fast and moving quickly. I finished in 1hr 15min and feel like I did just fine. LOTS of questions around drinking & alcoholism, anger and rage and how quickly you have it and let go of it, family happiness, some indirect questions on your feelings towards the law and finally questions trying to identify your profession as either an engineer/scientist vs the arts vs journalism. Strange.

It wasn't difficult or challenging at all and I'm interested to see the results.

Another point. There were about 12 others in the Google Meet window. Several of them would not mute their mics and kept making noises and talking to themselves throughout the exam. Another guy kept asking questions of which the proctor would answer none. Get a clue people! I had to turn the volume off to quit being distracted.

Unfortunately I don't believe we'll ever see the raw score/analyzed results. I asked the doctor during the 1:1 and they said they could not give that info. Only result received was a go or no-go for the next phase (livescan/training).
