Was that you with your wife picking up at about 9am? I had the red plaid shirt on.
Congrats, yup. That was me. Carry safe.

    Original interview 10/20/14
    Training 11/7&8/15
    Pick up 11/10/15

Over a year, but I had a delay organizing training/work schedule

Done and Picked-up. It looks like the admin issue with one of my pistols isn't resolved, or does not yet reflect on the CA DoJ system, so I could only put 2 of 3 on my permit today. Once it hits the system, it's another $10 to get it added..oh well, but now I'm packing!

Start to Finish: 11 mos, 2 days. Freaking Finally!

I'll be there. It's my second stop of the day. (coffee first!)

So you were carrying without it before? I don't think I'd be posting that online if I were you. (Not to mention the legality of your decision, but you already know that.)

It is up to the applicant to pay, but they do put a cap on how much it costs.

Who has to pay for the psych eval? In Lodi, the applicant has to pay the $150.00 for that as well.

I don't know. I can tell you that I have no criminal back round at all. Not even a traffic ticket in the last 10 years. I did turn in my dd214 with my paperwork. I also was honorably discharged 20 years ago. I'm really not worried about it. I should be able to pass a psych test no problem. Just added time and heck who knows maybe they won't need the test.

I have to agree with joshB. They didn't even want a copy of my DD214. I brought it, but they said they didn't need it. Did you just get out? Recent combat?

That is hardly "standard". 12 year vet here (2001 - 2013), and no psych requirement, though if I'm one of the few not required, then that would make me the exception. Perhaps he's flagging on some other element of your background, a specific portion of your military experience, or your answers in the interview, and using "military background" as an easy cop-out (broad brush) for wanting the psych?

He told me that the Sheriff will want a psych evaluation because of my military back round. He also told me it was a pretty standard request for former military. Know understand I can't speak for every veteran that applied, but this is what he told me personally

Any idea why he told you to get a psych evaluation?
