They told me that they are starting August 2015 app in a week or two.. so stay by the phone. They told me on August 31 2015 it would be 6 to 8 months, but I already knew from reading posts on here it was more like a year wait.... And I'm still waiting. At one point it did get down to ten months last year. But seriously if I get mine it will have been worth the waitLeave a comment:

Back on 06-25-2015, I posted:
Supervisor Elliott asked me to thank you for sharing your concerns, and to share with you that the Board of supervisors approved the 2015-2016 Budget today, which included resources for the Sheriff to hire two new background investigators to work on concealed weapon applications.Leave a comment:

Hopefully they hire additional background investigators. A year wait is ridiculousLeave a comment:

I was just talking to the sheriffs department to get an update on where I am at. They said they are just now starting to wrap up July 2015 for anyone who started their processes then.Leave a comment:

No I did not change jobs but last time the investigator asked me if planned on carrying at work and If I knew the firearms policy. I said that I had never seen it in writing but that it was a pretty safe bet that a school district was not in favor of weapons and that I had no intention of carrying on campus. He said ok and let it drop. This time the investigator made a big deal about it and that the person before should have put a restriction on there. I really do not care either way... it is silly because even unrestricted, under the new laws you can not carry on campus anyway.Ranger, curious about your renewal process/experience, as mine will be coming up shortly.
My question in particular is: it sounds, from your previous post, that you changed jobs...was that much of a hassle upon renewal? Anything you had to re-do with them in regards to your new position? I ask because I have changed employers since my initial and am wondering if there's some due diligence to be done now before I submit for renewal. Thanks for any/all insight.Leave a comment:

Ranger, curious about your renewal process/experience, as mine will be coming up shortly.I just got an email in the last couple days telling me my renewal was approved. I guess I have to go get my class out of the way and pick it up. I am interested to see if there are any restrictions this time. I had none last time but I was told they would put a work related one on there this time. The ironic thing is that I can no longer legally carry at work anyway being that I work at a school. I never carried there even when I legally could.
