Finally got around to turning in my application - 7/3/18
Went back later that week for Livescan - 7/6/18
    Phone call received 8/8/18
RECEIVED APPROVAL, ready to take class 9/5/18
******UPDATE****** CCW class taken and permit received - 10/24/18 (note: I could have had it weeks sooner but didn't have time to take the class right away).

A couple notes.... The lady at the desk (short blond hair, glasses) was incredibly nice and helpful, even got me in without an appointment (didn't know you needed appointment to turn in. oops). Very accommodating and pleasant. She also said they made some changes to the process to cut down the wait times and said its no longer 12-14mo and is about 6mo wait now! Hopefully that proves correct. Maybe a Christmas present

Also, anyone who is self employed, they will require a copy of your Business License/Business Tax Certificate. You need to have that at the time of the initial application apparently. I didn't know that, but they told me to just email it to them, so I did.

I got my renewal approved. It was a two and a half week turn around (17 days to be exact). It was delayed several days because they were waiting for an email from one of my employers saying it was ok for me to carry on the job. They actually called me and told me to remind my employer about it.

Edit: I did not know they were going to contact the employer until the employer mentioned it to me. Then I did not know the employer was ok with me carrying while on duty until the deputy that called me referred to it as an email saying it was ok for me to carry on the job. I did talk to the employer to clarify.

I got a call on Monday from the sheriffs department for my over-the-phone interview. I was just informed about the no weapons policy my place of work has. Other then that he just went over my application and said he will be passing the application up towards the sheriffs desk, and that everything is looking good. If all goes well I should receive an email from them in about a month regarding my approval.

6/4 - initial application and live scan
6/25 - over the phone interview.

Hope they start issuing for a longer year period than the current 2 year, also would be great to get a DL card style like Arizona issues.

I did mine earlier this year and it took about 3 weeks. I was just surprised that Ranger didn't have to go in the back and have a 1 on 1 with one of the investigators. But renewals definitely move faster than initial applications.

My renewal was approved in about 30 days. That was a year and a half ago.

I did not meet with an investigator. The lady at the desk just went over my stuff (mostly contact, residence, and employment), watched me sign everything, and said they would be calling me.

I went in for my renewal interview. It was the most pain free process I have experienced. I was in and out in 10-15 minutes including my wait time. I just signed everything with the lady at the desk and took a picture and verified my contact info and I was out.

On another note, I told Mr. Withrow that some were concerned given that he was a democrat. His response was that he understands your concern but he has stood toe to toe exchanging gunfire with bad guys and our citizens will "get to protect themselves, their families, and their neighbors"...

I think we have nothing worry about with him.
