Woke up to an email from my investigator asking about my work policy, stating that if I wished to carry at work they needed a copy of the policy along with a letter on company letterhead from my supervisor. I an unable to carry at work and put that in the application along with a letter stating that from my boss with his card.
I had filled bankruptcy in early 2013, I provided the cacase number in the applocation. They asked if it ad been filed and if it was completed as well.
Here is hoping it goes quicklyLeave a comment:

Good to hear. When I went in for my initial interview, the investigator stated that they would most likely accept a certificate if it was issued within a year. Hopefully, I will find out soon.Leave a comment:

If there is no policy saying yes who knows. It could be very possible their insurance policy will not allow it. My company says no weapons I convinced them my 3" spring assisted folder is a tool and got that approved. They said no for a firearm. They did not find it funny when I said my stool I sit on is just as much as a weapon if I wanted it to be as a firearm.Leave a comment:

Question for you guys regarding work policy. I work for a small privately owned company, and we actually don't even have a weapons policy. I guess I'm wondering what the case is there, I assume it would be better to have a weapon policy statings it's okay to carry a concealed weapon if you possess a valid permit, but I have never seen any policy state that. Does anyone have a sample of their own work's policy stating a CCW to be ok? I know the owner is not against having a ccw, and when I brought it up he wanted me to come up with some information so he can create a pro ccw policy on company letterhead. Did some googling but everything I can find is anti-weapon.Leave a comment:

They didn't say anything about my training that was taken 7 months ago when I got my CCW.Leave a comment:

Interview 12/8/14. Older Gentleman (white hair) was succinct and professional. I had imagined the interview to be much more stressful somehow.
Apparently SJSO hiring tempo has slackened off somewhat (hopefully a lot), so it looks like background investigators from the new-hire department will be freed up to help work through the PSD back-log. They recognize the 90-day statute, but also claim to still be understaffed be able to expeditiously process the flood of apps that have resulted from the policy change earlier this year. I was advised that 6 months is their average tempo at the moment, but are working on bringing that down.
And, wait...Leave a comment:

8 months next week for me. I emailed the investigator Friday and he responded that my file was on the sheriff's desk awaiting final approval. I thought for sure I would get a call yesterday or today.
I hope they will accept my training certificate. I took my course at the end of May...Leave a comment:

I called today and they transfered me to a background investigator. He pulled my file and told me it should be soon. I said I was hoping to have it by Christmas l, he said I don't know if it will be but let's hope.
