I would like to change the weapons from what I listed on my application but was told to wait until it is approved. Should I qualify with the 3 listed on my app plus any changes or just qualify with the final 3 I want?

I was told during my interview (10/20/14) that what you write on your application is irrelevant. What you qualify is what goes on your permit. Good luck.

Well, I plan to apply before end product year! I live in Manteca, should I go through MPD or SJSO? Which has a better chance and faster turn around?

Ended up finding a local pawnshop with FFL. They were super easy to work with. It's back in the 10 day wait period again. What a joke.

Nice. Can you share which pawn shop so others know who to go to if needed? The costs would be great info as well.

He can intra familial transfer to his wife using the correct caliber and then list it on the CCW permit later (even under his wife's name). Using your spouse's handgun is allowed in SJC.

OR go to an FFL and PPT to his wife (DROS), pay the $35, wait 10 days. Then he can list it on the CCW.

So could he intra familiar transfer it to his wife and still have it on his permit?

Or can he intra familiar transfer it to me and then I can intra familiar it back to him? Only downside I can see if it could take upwards of 6 months doing the back and forth.

I would remind the investigator that there is no law stating that it's illegal to change calibers. The gun was obtained legally and therefore should be allowed on the permit.

Sucks to hear this for SJC. But at least its the caliber that they have an issue with and not the SSE. Most of my SSE pistols were DROS'd using the correct caliber. Only one was done as multi.

Not sure how the pawn option would work at a local northern California pawn shop. We might need to talk to some shops and get them on board with this process as I'm sure more applicants will run into this issue.

You can also do inter family transfer to someone . Cost 19.00 online at attorney general site . The. Just use it under their name or transfer it back to you

Pawn it. When you get it back, it will re-DROSed as the right caliber.

My father went in today to pick up his permit. He also brought in the information for a lcp 380 he just purchased and qualified with. They would not allow this firearm on the permit because it's registered as a 25acp and not a 380. He informed them it was a SSE and it's in 380 form and that's what he qualified with. They still will not allow it.

I know of a few different people that have SSE guns on their permits that came through as 25 acp.

Not sure what to do now.
