They are having to rebuild the system. Some or all of the previous information is missing. Your photo was probably lost.Even though my photo was taken on the day of my interview and fingerprinting. I just received a call not long after I posted from the ccw office stating I need to resend them a photo of myself with a neutral background so they can issue my ccw since I changed my initial guns on the day of my range dayComment

As far as I can recall the range/class has always been on Saturday with the exception of a short time when they were having to get everyone qualified when the process changed. Until 5 or 6 years ago qualifications were not required.Found in the FAQ section "OFFICE LOCATIONS AND HOURS".
Their new range flyer says 8:00 to 5:00, so it looks like the range has longer hours than the office. Funny, the range flyer leaves out the days they are open, but thinking it is still Monday thru FridayI looked up my first range qualification at Glen Helen, and it was on a Saturday. I am blaming it on age!
My picture was taken right after my interview. They also took my finger prints at this time with their electronic finger print device, no ink.Last edited by Lady Ruger; 07-15-2023, 9:48 PM.Comment

I got my call this morning (Saturday) to send in a photo with a neutral background.Even though my photo was taken on the day of my interview and fingerprinting. So here is my timeline:
April 15 2022:

January 18 2023:
Interview Rescheduled. Paperwork in order
April 7 2023
SBCSD Hacked
April 8 2023
Range Day (Saturday) I added 2 firearms
July 15 2023
CCW Unit called for a new photo (photos lost in the hack). It will be mailed out today.
So, it appears they are making progress with expiring and new applicants.Comment

Hello everyone, newbee here. May I ask why it is says "The CCW Program is currently down. It is unknown at this time when it will be back online" on the sbcounty.gov? And anyone knows the estimate back online date? Thank you!Comment

I strongly suggest you spend some time reading past comments.Comment

To save you the time, the SB Sheriff's dept was the victim of a ransomware attack in April. Their systems were damaged and no one knows when things will be back to normal.

Applying for CCW with DUI
Hey all,,
I want to apply for a CCW in San Bernardino county, however, I have a DUI on my record from about six years ago. I also have about 3 tickets on my record from 4+ years ago (Cell phone while driving, no turn on red, and speeding). FYI all tickets were dealt with traffic school and the DUI is expunged.
Does anyone have a similar driving record who was approved for a CCW? or maybe heard of a similar situation?
Maybe I?ll get flat out denied, but, who knows.Comment

I just got my second extension in the mail. It's the same as the first just a double. I'm sure it was an accident or an oversight with them dealing with everything. Maybe it was just a one off or others might get them as well. Same card same letter with explanation.I will stand for truth even if I stand alone.
The last time I had faith in the News was when it was with Huey Lewis.Comment

Allegedly the first one had a typo which delayed them being mailed.I just got my second extension in the mail. It's the same as the first just a double. A few had gone out before the typo was found.Comment

They were mailing them in batches.
I turned in my paperwork in early April and got the blue card July 8th.
I would email them or if nearby maybe try stopping in.Comment

Renewal Question
Although I'm late to the game because I've been out of the loop for a while and didn't realize they were having issues, data breach, etc, I think I have everything in order. I expected some notification and I understand it's on me for not paying attention.
The only thing I'm confused about is what I read about a phycological evaluation, and that it "may" be required. Are they asking for this currently?
I may not get my permit before I expire but I do want to make sure I check all the boxes. Requalification is on August 18 and my permit expires 10/01
