I know the feeling. The wait after the interview is the hardest time. Go shooting and have some fun. They will call before you know it.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Online app for NEW CCW's has been available for a number of years. I don't think renewals have ever been able to be submitted online.

I know. I even posted in the post you quoted that it was for new applications. But Pink Toaster said that is wasn't working. I was posting that it was working. Then latter in the thread i posted that it is kind of hard to find but it's still there.

            This.
My application was May 2015. Submitted online, but still needed to take a printed copy with me to the interview.
Renewal is print-and-carry-in, no appt needed.

For the residence check, it depends on who is doing the check.
In my case, the deputy talked to my wife, and asked her to give a couple of neighbors his card and have them call him. We were having the parking lot repaved and my wife said that he was worried that his car would be towed
Honestly, I think since we're 20+ year residents of the same address, it was a formality.

Some have reported that neighbors have said that the deputy has been across the spectrum of discretion, from saying "I am conducting a non-criminal background check" to "I am conducting a background check for CCW"

There IS an employer form letter, but no visit. The form letter must be completed and returned before your application will be approved. Obviously, for those self-employed this may not be the case.
The letter is a simple 5 question yes/no thing with room for comments.

One question is "Is a CCW required for employment?"
For those with a good relationship with your boss, let him no that "No" is the correct answer. A "Yes" answer may or may not result in denial, but it will most likely result in an uncomfortable conversation when the permit is issued.
SBSD does not issue permits for employment purposes... this doesn't mean that you can't carry WHILE working, but it means that if a part of your job (outside of your own personal protection) involves carrying a handgun, the permit is not valid for that purpose.

I don't think they even came out to my neighborhood. I have lived on the same property since 82. Only one neighbor close by (not on talking terms with law enforcement), other neighbors that are in the area I don't have contact with. I am retired, old job I was at for 34 years is cold iron, nobody home but security guard. I live way off the radar. Still got approved.

You must be the guy Captain Marhoefer was talking about when he said that he got a call from a deputy wanting to do a check out in the sticks but the neighbors wouldn't talk to him

Could have been. He REALLY doesn't like the authorities! He does his very best to be a thorn in the county leadership's side. Yeah, one of those types. I only have neighbors on two sides, him being one of them (across the street). The other family I really don't see much.

I didn't say it wasn't working... I said IF it wasn't working, it's a step backwards... I don't know if it's currently working because I applied last year and did it online (and did not need to take in a printed out copy. As a matter of fact, at the time I applied online, there was no option to print out a copy. I wish there was so I could have added it to my files.

I have no idea if they came to our neighborhood or not. We don't really know any of our neighbors... so not sure what they could say about us....

Well, it took 10 months of waiting but I received my San Bernardino county issued permit this week. The worst part of the process besides the money was the wait. I was surprised that they are only good for 2 years, my Nevada permit is 5 years. Either way, I am glad this process is over.

Overheard a conversation at a weekend event we were attending...a acquaintance was talking about having just started the CCW process. I happen to know they also just got a Medical MJ card. Is SB currently asking about them? Checking to see if someone has one? I know it was mentioned in a renewal class if you have both and they find it out they will revoke your CCW.

Going to be interesting how the interview goes.
My detective was very interested in alcohol and MJ use.
