I called them and asked. I should be ok. I signed up for the renewal class at the end of October. I will turn in the paperwork on Monday. I've had a busy year with work/divorce so when my little reminder went off on my phone to renew it, I was like "ok, I will get started on it in the next few days" and forgot all about it until I was switching wallets.

Just had my interview yesterday, only asked me why do I need CCW?
Answered: For personal protection because of the increased crime activity in the area.
Now the waiting game. The guy said it will take about 6 months more or less to get the permit.

My employer had the verification form in 4 days after the interview.
Also, I got the call that I had passed background (under 30 days), and have my range date scheduled for the end of October.
Start to finish should be around 11 months.Comment

Quick question guys...
I applied for my ccw on august of 2016. I had my interview first week of July on 2017 which went well. Paid my partial fees with my money order and did my live scan. I followed up beginning of September just to check my status and was informed that the only thing waiting was my background check from DOJ for full clearance. Fast forward to earlier this week, I received a call from SBSD and they said that I was cleared but I had to come in to do the live scan fingerprinting again. Apparently the DOJ doesn't have my file. So I went back to SBSD, did my fingerprinting again, and asked why they don't have my info. They said we don't know but that's technology for you. Can't be too dependent on it, hopefully they receive it again this time and it might be a glitch or something like that.
So my question is...
Does this put me in the back of the line again for range day and does my waiting period extend? I know they are swamped with ccw applications and have been doing a great job getting them processed from what I hear lately. I'm just a little envious since my buddy applied January 2017, was called in for the interview on the same time as mine on July as a fill in since somebody rescheduled, and had his range day already last week Saturday. The funny thing is I told my buddy to apply for it January this year after I did my application last year. Anyone have any similar experiences as far as having to redo the fingerprinting process again?

Until all the info is submitted and you are approved there is not 'line'.
Once you are approved, livescan is processed, home check done, etc then you are given a range date.Mrs 38Special
