    WOW I stand corrected.

When I qualified at Apple Valley it was 5 yrds or 15 feet.

I talked to some people who qualified at Devore last weekend and they are positive it was 3 yrds or 9 feet,

So yes it depends on your class.

Could be 3 yrds could be 5 yrds. Either way you could probably qualify just throwing bullets at the target.

Alright, it's been roughly 6 months since I've been a resident of SB County. is the timeline still the same at around 9 months and 6 months for interview date? Should I begin my application process now? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I can only speak to interview date when I made mine, at the time it was 3 months. Made appointment June third and had interview sept. 4th.

Was wondering if Berdoo limits you to one carry gun at a time. Specifically, if I travel to the range with the 3 firearms that I brought to my interview, do I have to prepare 2 of them for transport in a locked case, or is it legal/permissible to have all 3 concealed on me or in the vehicle?

Still waiting on the call to schedule the range date, interview was 8/4/14.

What a coincidence, Joyce just called me literally 10 minutes after my previous post. Passed the background and scheduled a range date!

Since you have to qualify before you get a permit, I'd imagine "all 3 concealed on me" is a no no...

Locked case unloaded is your best bet.

A LOT has changed recently with SB procedures.

That 9 months remaining on your lease thing is long gone.
You aren't required to bring your firearms to the Station for inspection, it will be done at the range.
Acceptable calibers are listed in the faq.

Let me clarify. Once I have ccw in my wallet, can I carry all 3 concealed on my way to the range for practice? Or do they limit you to one at a time? I'll definitely ask at the qualification, just wondering if anyone knows their regulations on carrying more than one at a time.

I was told that you can carry all of them simultaneously if you'd like. So long as you keep them concealed.

Yep, you can carry all three at once if you want. All permitted weapons are exempt from locked and unloaded transport. But I would still lock them up when left in an unattended vehicle. I wouldn't want my weapon in the wrong hands, ever.

                        I don't think that's correct.

1- My class was told only one at a time. This was almost 2 years ago.

2- Being listed on your card does not exempt the weapon from being locked up in the vehicle. The only time it doesn't have to be unloaded and locked is when it's on your person.

For me it was about 5 months from my first phone call to set appointment to card in hand, I understand that they are busier now but they have also streamlined a lot of things. I would suggest you call and get your appointment now or at least call and ask them how the timeline is running.

One correction, check with the department on bringing your firearms to your interview. I called before I went to double check this, was told that doesn't start till November. Call before you go to confirm.

In my class last month we were specifically told you could carry all three. The capt even brought up the guy from boondock saints.
